1 Position Description Position Title Department Reports To Operations Manager Victoria Training Operations General Manager Training Operations Overview of Company SEDA Group: SEDA Group is a Victorian-based Registered Training Organisation offering nationally recognised and government subsidised programs in Sport, Fitness and Recreation. Established in 2011, our courses range from Certificate II through to Diploma with additional capacity to deliver courses in First Aid and CPR. We offer a contemporary approach to training and education that is client focused and provides opportunities for career enhancement and further education. SEDA Group has the capacity to deliver a range of customised and contextualised solutions to meet industry, workforce development or individual business needs. SEDA Group are committed to the following shared values: Integrity Innovation Professionalism Collaboration Position Overview The Operations Manager - Victoria is the direct line manager of the most important student facing staff members the Facilitators/Trainers and Assessors. The Operations Manager is the primary link between SEDA Group and its classes, and as such, the role is vital in ensuring a positive student experience. The Operations Manager Victoria owns the responsibility for the student journey for all programs in Victoria. The Operations Manager - Victoria is responsible for overseeing the facilitation, training and assessment of a number of programs offered by SEDA including the Diploma of Sport Development, Certificate III & IV in Fitness, and licensed senior secondary programs. In addition to Facilitator/Trainers and Assessors, the Operations Manager Victoria has two other direct reports, the Tertiary and Employment Pathways Coordinator, and the Student Wellbeing Coordinator. The position is Head Office based, however due to the nature of the position; travel may be required to ensure that service provision meets the expected standards across all locations.

2 Key Responsibilities Responsibility Training Operations Teaching and learning Overview Plan, allocate and manage resources (e.g. classroom, human resources) in an effective and efficient manner Coordinate staff coverage across the spread of classes Ensure venues are fit for purpose and provide a high quality student experience Prepare and manage detailed budgets for all programs Facilitate regular operational meetings Collaborate with Management/Executive staff to provide regular professional development for all staff Ensure staff adhere to SEDA Group Operating Manual, Trainer and Assessor Guide, and other relevant policies and procedures Actively monitor and manage student engagement progress and retention, and liaise with staff to mitigate related issues Develop effective referral mechanisms to pathways and student wellbeing services Oversee the implementation of student orientation, student induction and peak experiences for all programs Prepare reports for various departments as required, which accurately report key metrics, and are of a high professional standard Lead, guide and coach Facilitators/Trainer and Assessors in the delivery of curriculum to best practice standards Oversee the implementation of VET and VCAL curriculum for all programs Monitor the quality of training delivery by objectively assessing and providing feedback to Facilitators/Trainer and Assessors, and ensuring adherence to Training and Assessment Strategies, Training Plans, Delivery Schedules and the Curriculum Development Framework Manage staff in the monitoring and reporting of student engagement (e.g. progress, assessment, attendance, skill development, feedback, MyPlan etc.) Facilitator Trainer/Assessor Effectiveness Ensure all Facilitators/Trainer and Assessors are highly effective in their roles with particular attention being paid, but not limited to: o Student Career Development Plans (MyPlan) o Annual industry partner work plans o Student practical placements o Professional standards of both students and staff o Effective use of online learning systems (MySEDA) and delivery of online content o Supporting social media targets o Maintaining positive relationships with relevant industry stakeholders o Peak experience program o Induction/Orientation processes

3 Implement informed management and coaching practices to drive improvement in teacher effectiveness Lead performance management processes Regularly consult, support and manage staff providing motivation and inspiration as a leader Program Development Collaborate with key Training Operations staff in the annual planning process of all programs offered by SEDA Group in Victoria Contribute to the development of course structures, timetables, resourcing requirements and venue usage across all programs Seek new partnerships within the community to enhance learning and development within each program Work closely with the marketing team to promote, advertise and advocate programs to prospective students and clients Wellbeing and Pathways Provide leadership and direction for the Tertiary and Employment Pathways Coordinator, and Student Wellbeing Coordinator with respect to articulation to further study or employment, and/or student wellbeing and support services. Develop clear plans as to how Wellbeing and Pathways services are to be provided to students in Victoria Coordinate the resourcing and ancillary services required for the provision of robust support services in the listed areas Act as a key point of liaison with SEDA College Victoria as students transition from senior secondary to post-secondary studies Industry Ensure strategic alliances and partnerships are developed and maintained with a range of industry stakeholders Support and manage local, state and national partnerships within each of the programs showing awareness of annual industry planning processes Lead, support and assist staff with the implementation of partnership initiatives, events and projects in conjunction with key stakeholders Collaborate with the partnerships team to maintain and improve reporting mechanisms to ensure that SEDA Group is able to measure the impact of services provided on behalf of, or in connection with industry partners activities and initiatives Leadership/Team Work Provide regular, feedback to staff through staff meetings, individual meetings, and performance review processes Work with staff to develop their skills in line with the professional development framework and the concept of the Outstanding SEDA teacher Work as an effective team member, sharing responsibilities, working collaboratively, generating ideas and demonstrating leadership within the Victorian team Establish positive relationships with team members and colleagues

4 Compliance and continuous improvement Collaborate with key Training Operations staff to ensure all qualifications and programs adhere to training package, SRTO, AQF and Skills First regulatory and compliance requirements. Adhere to the VET Quality Framework and other related guidelines whilst managing the delivery of all programs across Victoria Evaluate and improve the quality of the program on a regular basis. Contribute to validation and industry consultation processes and participate in audits as required Coordinate the participation of Facilitator/Trainer and Assessor staff in compliance related activities Personal and professional development Maintain vocational competency, industry currency and vocational training knowledge Undertake professional development relevant to the sector or the training packages being delivered Associated Duties Undertake other duties which are appropriate to the level of the position, as directed by Management/Executive Act in accordance with SEDA values, policies, and procedures. Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures and take all reasonable care for their own and others health and safety. Maintain access and equity for all students Maintain a Working with Children s Check Key Performance Indicators Indicator Student Outcomes Stakeholder Feedback Active Promotor Overview SEDA Group staff will be assessed against a range of student outcome measures including but not limited to: Unit completions Course completions Further study outcomes Employment outcomes and employability skills MyPlan development and progress A range of stakeholder feedback and student course evaluations will be also considered on a regular basis to determine: Program satisfaction Employer satisfaction Quality Indicators Stakeholder engagement and retention All staff are required to promote SEDA Group and its offerings to a wide range of stakeholders.

5 Key Selection Criteria Skills and Experience Demonstrated capacity to effectively lead and manage a team of staff in the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative and compliant programs, products and services Demonstrated experience in management of a team within an education or training organization and evidence of achieving high quality outcomes for students, staff and employers A sound knowledge and understanding of the education and training sectors and a comprehensive understanding of how RTOs operate in a business context Experience in teaching/training students in senior secondary, vocational and/or higher education settings Knowledge and understanding of funded program reporting requirements Effective presentation and facilitation skills, and ability to implement a range of mechanisms to improve student engagement Well-developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build rapport, and interact effectively with a range of key stakeholders Capacity to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with others Demonstrated ability to objectively assess the capacity of Facilitator/Trainer and Assessors to engage students, develop knowledge and skills, and deliver quality training outcomes Strong organisational, planning and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workload, meet deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances Ability to use problem solving skills to identify problems and establish an appropriate solution Proficiency in using ICT and relevant software and database packages Demonstrated skills in project and event management (desirable) Qualifications TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or equivalent (desirable) A tertiary qualification in Education or Sports-related field (essential) Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110 (or approved equivalent) Current first aid qualification (including CPR and Anaphylaxis training) Vocational qualifications to at least the level of the programs being managed (essential) Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration (desirable but not essential) A six-month probation period applies to full and part time positions of more than 6 months.
