Key Accountabilities of the Role Key Accountability 1 Public Affairs briefings, research and political data. This activity will be done on a daily basis. Support the Senior Public Affairs Officer to identify and meet with politicians and principal decision makers across the UK political parties. To monitor, analyse and report on relevant Westminster parliamentary activity (and other parliaments where appropriate). 2 Organisation of political events and Party Conferences. Each year Guide Dogs attends the three major national conferences as well as arranging a Parliamentary reception. Interact with the Conference teams at each of the three main parties Interact with the Conference teams in the House of Commons Interact with internal stakeholders (such as The Design Studio) to ensure related collateral is created and delivered on time. Interact with Engagement Teams (and guide dog owners directly where required) to ensure appropriate representation at events. Interact with Trustees and members of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure their attendance at such events. 3 Expenditure Requests, Invoices, administration. This takes place on a daily basis. 4 Briefing key internal stakeholders. This takes place on a daily basis. Liaise with Engagement Teams and devolved policy teams on campaigns, to ensure maximum support locally and across the UK. Ensure Key Guide Dogs staff (including Trustees), are aware of developments in political climate and specific policy debates, disseminating information rapidly through the organization, drafting briefings and copy for internal communications.
