1 JOB DESCRIPTIONS JOB DESCRIPTION 1 Job Title NCS Programme Manager Salary Hours of Work 26,000-30,000 (dependent on experience) You will have a standard working week of a minimum of 37.5 hours, You will be required to work outside of normal office hours, at evenings, weekends and on bank holidays and on public holidays (including residential weeks) Location Responsible to Responsible for Contractual status Job share Derby County Community Trust, 14 Pride Point Drive, Pride Park, Derby, DE24 8BX Community Manager Effectively managing numerous partnerships and delivery programmes with key stakeholders that enables DCCT to successfully deliver NCS in Derby City Ongoing Not suitable for job share 2 Overall purpose of the Job The Project Manager will plan, implement and co-ordinate all aspects of the National Citizen Service (NCS) project within the Trust. The Project Manager will liaise with Ingeus to ensure that all KPI s are met and the programme is monitored and evaluated in line with contract obligations.

2 3 Duties and Responsibilities Manage a team of staff to successfully achieve all contractual targets To be the main contact with Ingeus and to provide reports as appropriate whilst working to tight deadlines. To oversee and quality assure the operational activity of NCS To support recruitment of young people on to the local programme using a variety of mechanisms including presentations, social activities and innovative ways to engage the target group. To have a proven track record of project and financial management (minimum of 3 years experience) To recruit appropriate staff and volunteers to deliver the programme, including a group of youth volunteers to act as Ambassadors for the NCS programme. To book all necessary venues, activities and arrange other resources needs for example Residential Centres, transportation and equipment/kit. Engagement with local volunteer centre, community groups and charities for social action project opportunities. To liaise with DCFC in order to utilise club resources such as player appearances and marketing To create signposting links to other Education and volunteering provisions for young people To attend related networks, all meetings and NCS events, supporting partnership and sharing good practice. To liaise with a range of key stakeholders such as schools and parents to ensure effective engagement and participation in NCS. To draw down additional funding to increase and enhance the project activities Ensure effective risk assessments are carried out for all NCS activities Ensure that all safeguarding issues are dealt with in line with DCCT processes and policies Ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of all activities undertaken within the scheme, reporting outcomes and performance back to funders To work towards agreed Key Performance Indicators and agree to a personal development programme approved by the Community Manager As a member of the senior management team they are required to ensure

4 PERSON SPECIFICATION DESCRIPTION 1 QUALIFICATIONS Essential Minimum 3 year s project management experience Experience of managing and delivering NCS Full valid manual driving licence with access to a vehicle for business use Track record of mini bus driving Desirable FA Coach Educator Sports Leaders UK Tutor Related degree 2 EXPERIENCE Essential Experience of developing and implementing a business plan Experience in financial planning and management Experience of project management Experience of producing a variety of reports Development of sustainable partnerships with existing and new organisations Ability to manage, lead and motivate a team of FT / PT / Voluntary staff Usage of monitoring systems Desirable Experience of developing effective administrative systems and procedures Knowledge of Health and Safety within sport Experience of completing applications to secure funding 3 SKILLS & ABILITIES Essential Sound financial planning and business management skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Effective communicator, able to build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders Ability to monitor, evaluate and assess performance Ability to plan and prioritise what needs to be delivered and ensure processes and resources are in place to deliver Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team Good IT skills, including word processing, spreadsheets and databases
