2 Pre- Requisites: 1. Operationally and occupationally competent to EMOpSS ARV role profile (National Police Firearms Training Curriculum) or willingness to undergo training, pass and maintain this role. 1. TPAC trained. 2. PIP Level 1 Qualified 3. Qualified risk assessor. 2. Must be medically and physically fit in accordance with national standards for the role. Reasonable adjustments will be made where appropriate (Equality Act 2010). 3. Standard (Response) level Police Driver plus willingness and ability to pass advanced driver and TPAC training. 4. Must hold a full and valid UK driving licence with any DVLA endorsements highlighted to the regional driver training manager and/or nominated EMOpSS recruitment manager. 5. Has a current and historic conduct record that reflects high ethical standards and values. 6. Must have completed Police probationary period.

3 Work Experience: 1. Experience in responding to incidents and applying the National Decision Model effectively 1. Experience in investigating road traffic collisions. 2. Experience of attending incidents and problem solving, particularly in difficult circumstances. 3. Experience in making difficult decisions in difficult circumstances, and under time pressure. 4. Experience in carrying out proactive policing initiative and working to tasking. 5. Experience of working to high levels of professionalism with strong ethical standards and values in line with professional practise.

4 Personal / Interpersonal Skills, Aptitudes: 1. Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing and has a understanding of diversity, fairness and bias in the workplace. 2. Demonstrates skills and knowledge of planning, coordinating and prioritising workloads/tasks 3. Demonstrable experience and skills of teamwork in an operational environment. 4. Can work enthusiastically to high standards with a minimum of supervision, influencing other team members to work to similar standards. 5. 5 Special Skills / Experience: 1. Able to meet the national fitness standards for a firearms officer (Level 9.4 on the shuttle test or equivalent recognised assessment) 2. Must meet national AFO / EMOpSS medical requirements. 3. Has an awareness of the challenges facing Armed Policing in the current climate. 6 Duties Operational: (List of Daily Activities) Responsibilities 1. To provide a 24 hour mobile armed response to spontaneous and planned firearms incidents, in addition to less lethal option of TASER, working in accordance with the College of Policing APP for Armed Policing, the National Decision Making Model, local and national standards in respect of the police use of firearms. 2. To attend, lead and manage the primary investigation of fatal, serious and life altering vehicle collisions. 3. The enforcement of drink drive/drug drive legislation and support to local and national roads policing initiatives such as Fatal Four. 4. To provide general vehicle pursuit and a Tactical Pursuit and Containment (TPAC) capability. 5. To perform, where applicable, the role of Operational Firearms Commander for both spontaneous and pre-planned firearms operations in accordance with the College of Policing APP for Armed Policing. 6. To participate in the PDR process and take responsibility for identifying your own professional and career development needs. 7. To actively promote and support diversity across EMOpSS. 8. To gather intelligence and deliver results in respect of level 1 and 2 tasking and coordinating processes. 9. To utilise ANPR technology to target criminality by gathering intelligence and responding to operational deployments. Communication: 1. To demonstrate support and engagement through the application and adherence to EMOpSS standards and working practices 2. To represent the RAPT Sgt and EMOpSS at local or other meetings. 3. To give advice and support to key stakeholders and partner agencies on armed policing and assist in any training initiatives to promote awareness of firearms and crime reduction.

7 Public Reassurance: 1. To support and promote crime/armed/road policing prevention and education events and initiatives. 2. To prepare and deliver presentations and organise displays on this role, responsibilities and functions as required. Within safe parameters. Major Events & Incidents: 1. To undertake a role in the planning and execution of pre-planned and national operations and initiatives. General: 1.
