1 GUILD CARE JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title Unit Responsible To Responsible For Hours of Work Salary Operations Director Community Services Head Office Chief Executive Domiciliary Care Services, Health and Wellbeing Services, Ashdown Centre, Carers Support Service 35 per week, normally Monday Friday As agreed by the Board of Trustees Job Purpose 1. To lead and develop Guild Care s community based services as integrated components of the social care market in Worthing Adur and Arun. 2. To ensure Guild Care is central to the strategic development and delivery of community based services in liaison with statutory commissioners of services and other local partners. 3. To lead the development of outcome-based, personalised and innovative services which promote independence. 4. To contribute to the strategic management of the organisation through membership of the Senior Management Team. 5. To represent Guild Care professionally and positively with the public and our external stakeholders including tendering for services. Main Duties Service Development and Provision 1. To ensure that services are delivered to the highest possible standards, meeting our contractual and service level agreement requirements and achieving positive feedback from service users, regulators and commissioners. 2. To ensure that all community services develop appropriate links with other Guild Care services and local networks. Operations Director - Community Services.docPage 1 of 5 1/10/2011

To position Guild Care as a central partner in the development of community based services locally, in particular linking with Local Authority and Health partners and the Health and Wellbeing Partnership Board and with strategic Carers Development meetings in the County 4. To supervise and develop service managers in line with Guild Care requirements and to develop competencies which support the achievement of a positive management culture. 5. To work imaginatively and creatively in seeking to continuously improve the quality of services, involving users, carers and relatives wherever possible. 6. To keep abreast of the legal, regulatory and good practice developments within the sector, ensuring that these standards translate into Guild Care practice at the earliest opportunity. Resources 1. To work with the Finance Director to ensure that all community services have realistic budgets and achieve their targets for income and expenditure. 2. To ensure that all services are delivering high quality services in a cost effective and efficient manner through the regular review of structure, process and procedure. 3. To be responsible for the development of care related policies that meet our legal, regulatory and health and safety obligations. 4. To take a lead role in ensuring community services are financially sustainable, tendering for service opportunities with the sector or applying for grants that enhance both the services provided by Guild Care and the income Guild Care generates from them. Strategic Management and Partnerships 1. To attend meetings of the Board of Trustees, Board Sub Committees and other meetings with Trustees, write reports, make presentations, and lead discussions as required. 2. To make a positive and constructive contribution to the work of the Senior Management Team, attending meetings, writing and presenting reports and working with colleagues as required. 3. To take a lead role in representing the organisation at independent sector forums and with our statutory partners ensuring that both the sector and Guild Care s needs are understood at local and county level.
