4 SESSION ONE 1 O.30am am Unraveling the dynamics of global transformational changes This introductory session will briefly review and illustrate the fundamental change drivers which are transforming the global landscape for emerging business. They include demographic dynamics, technology changes, and geopolitical shifts and associated global economic transformations in the locus of production, consumption, research, and innovation. There will be extensive presentation and discussion of the latest data and debates on these issues. The main focus will be on what these macro-level changes imply for business strategy and why it is essential for business leaders and entrepre neurs to keep these on their radar screens. SESSION TWO 11.30am am Economic and business shifts in major regions and country players in the new global business environment Continuing form the previous session, this discussion will focus specifically on how developments in major economic regions and countries will shape the global business environment. We will look at the United States, the euro zone, Japan, Australia, BRIC economies (especially China and India), and other non-bric emerging markets. Emphasis will be on how these developments shape business opportunities both within these economies and elsewhere in the world.
