1 International Society of Drug Delivery Sciences and Technology Dear Colleague, SPONSORING, EXHIBITING AND ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITIES The APGI (Association de Pharmacie Galénique Industrielle/International Society of Drug Delivery Sciences and Technology) is organizing for the first time a workshop dedicated to Oral Controlled Release Solid Dosage forms. This includes matrix systems as well as coated dosage forms, such as tablets, pellets and capsules. During the one day event, oral and poster presentations from academia and industry, practical demonstrations (in small groups) and an industrial exhibition are foreseen. As practical demonstrations are included, the maximum number of participants is limited to 150. The workshop will be held at the University of Lille, College of Pharmacy, 3 Rue du Professeur Laguesse, Lille, France. The entire spectrum, ranging from engineering aspects during the manufacturing process, the portfolio of commercially available excipients allowing to formulate a large variety of drugs, the underlying mass transport mechanisms and physical principles, characterization methods for the key properties of the devices as well as potential pitfalls and hurdles to be overcome during product development will be addressed. This workshop will give an update on the current state of the art of how to best formulate oral controlled release solid dosage forms. An overview on the available excipients, preparation techniques and apparatuses, characterization methods and future strategies will be given by world-wide leading experts in the field including: From ACADEMIA: Prof. R. 2 A SHORT PRESENTATION OF THE APGI ORGANIZER OF THE: The APGI The APGI (Association de Pharmacie Galénique Industrielle/International Society of Drug Delivery Sciences and Technology) was created in 1964 in Paris, and is an association accessible to all, academics and individuals in industry, who are concerned with pharmaceutical technology and the design, formulation and pharmacotechnical, biopharmaceutical and pharmacokinetic assessment of dosage forms and delivery systems, whether pharmaceutical or dermopharmaceutical. The APGI has members covering more than thirty different nationalities and counts contacts and friends in over fifty countries.the APGI is publishing the newsletter La Gazette.
