This curse will help develp skills necessary t becme a prfessinal welder and prvide a basic understanding f related ccupatins. Students will learn technical details, knwledge and skills which can lead t a lifelng interest. Descriptin This curse includes practice in advanced arc welding techniques in all psitins. MIG, TIG, plasma arc, pattern burning, and flame cutting equipment are all used. Emphasis is placed n preparing the student t take the AWS welding certificatin test. List all f the safety rules which apply in the welding shp. b. Be alert t situatins which prduce specific hazards in the welding envirnment. c. Identify the causes f accidents in case studies and describe a prcedure which wuld have eliminated these accidents. d. Develp the habits f wrking safely in all situatins. Perfrmance Standards Cmpetence will be demnstrated: n the welding equipment in the EAC welding shp. Students will have free access t all tls and safety devices. Criteria - Perfrmance will be satisfactry when: learner wrks safely and uses apprpriate safety gear with each piece f welding equipment.. learner sets up all f the welding equipment crrectly fr the welding cnditins. 2. Select the best welding prcess fr each assigned welding jb. Learning bjectives What yu will learn as yu master the cmpetency: a. Describe all f the cmmnly used welding prcesses. b. List the advantages and limitatins f each f these prcesses. c. Decide which prcess shuld be used fr each jb n a list f carefully described welding situatins. d. Specify the welding materials, electrdes, filler metals, and welding gases t be used in each f the preceding welding situatins.
