Entry fees are nnrefundable and apply t each individual entry. ELIGIBILITY Students must be attending a Maryland Cllege r University and be an ASID MD Chapter Student Member. Students must have a parent r legal guardian signature n the entry frm unless the entrant is at least 18 years f age. Cmpetitin is pen t students majring in Interir Design at a tw, three, r fur-year Cllege r University. Graduate students are nt eligible t cmpete. Students must include their student ID number, Schl and ASID member number. All entries must be the wrk f the entering student. If this entry was a grup prject, it must be entered as a cllabratin/grup prject and must have full grup participatin and all grup participant names listed. Any prject entered in any previus ASID Maryland Student Cmpetitin is nt eligible ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Students may enter as many categries as desired with a maximum limit f tw (2) entries per categry. Students must separately register each prject submissin. There is a registratin fee fr each prject submissin entry. Entries must be current year r a previus student year s prjects and cmpleted n earlier than January 1, AWARD CATEGORIES 1. Cmmercial Design: Any cmmercial space r part theref, including crprate, Institutinal, educatinal, retail, etc. 2. Hspitality Design: Any hspitality space r part theref, including htel, restaurant, spa, club, etc. 3. Healthcare/Life Care: Any space fr the care, treatment, prmtin f gd health, r part theref. 4. Residential Design: Any residential space r part theref, including whle residence, cmbinatin f rms, r single rm (i.e. Bedrm, Family Rm, Recreatinal, Media Rm), etc. 5. Residential: Kitchen/ Bath Design: Any kitchen, bath, r utility space. 6. Histric Design: The prject can be any histric space, restratin, rehabilitatin, adaptive reuse, r a histrically influenced designed space (cmmercial r residential). 7. Sustainable Design: Any Level LEED, Green, r Sustainable prject fllwing USGBC guidelines t be envirnmentally respnsible by design and/ r utilizes envirnmentally respnsible prducts r elements and addresses scial sustainability SEED, in any part r cmbinatin theref in any applicatin. If entering in this categry the LEED wrksheet must be included with yur submittal. 8. Design Element: Any custm designed element: i.e., furniture, furnishing, windw treatment, lighting, architectural element, pattern, textile, rug, wall cvering, etc. 9. Cllabrative Grup Prject: Any prject executed by tw (2) r mre individuals. This may include team prjects, shw huse prjects, cmmunity service and any cllabrative class prjects. (cmmercial r residential). All grup prjects are judged in the same categry. (All participants must fill ut a frm and all frms must be submitted tgether; hwever, the prject will be cnsidered as ne entry and nly ne entry fee is required.) 10. Student Chapter Service Prject: Any prject planned and executed by a Maryland ASID Student Chapter fr the benefit f the cmmunity as a vlunteer service (nn-paid) including purpse, plan, prcess, executin, and results. All participants must fill ut a frm and all frms must be submitted tgether. The entry fee is waived fr ne submissin per Student Chapter. 3 ENTRY SUBMISSION CRITERIA Entry frms that are missing infrmatin r are withut signature will be disqualified. Registratin fees are required per prject entry. Any identifying infrmatin displayed n submitted prject entry material will result in immediate disqualificatin. The prject shuld be taken frm cursewrk but can be subsequently mdified. In rder t allw individual instructrs t meet the needs f their classes, n specific prgramming data will be impsed r assumed. Pay special attentin t the prject s ability t be understd withut this data r verbal explanatin, this clarity will be evaluated in judging. Each entry submissin must include: Flder with name and categry Entry frm Images described belw. Prject entry must be in a SINGLE dcument PDF frmat dcument with a maximum f twelve (12) 8 ½ x 11 r six (6) 11 x 17 pages. All images submitted must be 300 dpi reslutin r higher. Dcument requirements include: First page t include as a minimum: Prject Title & Cncept Statement t include health and safety cdes and features, universal design aspects, key sustainability factrs when applicable, and ther infrmatin pertinent t the Judge s understanding f the scpe f the prject. Additinal pages shuld cver details t aid in understanding the design cncept. (Drawings, Flr Plans, Elevatins, Renderings, Befre & After Phtgraphs, Materials and Specificatins, Sketches, Preliminary Drawings, etc ). All submitted material will be factred int scring; please submit material apprpriately and prfessinally. THIS IS THE ONLY DOCUMENT SHARED WITH THE JUDGES AND SHOULD CONTAIN NO IDENTIFYING INFORMATION SUCH AS YOUR NAME, SCHOOL NAME, OR LOGO. Include in yur submissin dcument any images f the prject that yu d like used shuld the entry win and be sptlighted during the awards ceremny r similar ASID events. Include all digital images in a prfessinal quality, high-reslutin, and clr frmat (300 dpi). ENTRY DEADLINES Early Bird registratin frm must be submitted by Mnday, May 15, 2017 by 11:59 PM Registratin frm must be submitted by Mnday, June 12, 2017 by 11;59 PM All prject material must be digitally submitted t Drpbx n r befre: Friday, June 30, 2017 by 11:59 PM JUDGING & RESULTS The ASID Maryland Chapter Design Cmpetitin Cmmittee will appint a jury with a minimum f five judges. Judges will nt be affiliated with the Maryland Chapter ASID r the Cmpetitin Spnsr(s); hwever, judges will be ASID Prfessinal r Allied members affiliated with ther ASID Chapters. Scres belw 79 are nt cnsidered fr award purpses; all decisins by the judges are final; cmpetitin rules and requirements are nn-negtiable. Any entry that des nt meet all cmpetitin rules and requirements will be disqualified; n refunds will be issued. Entries will be evaluated n the fllwing: DESIGN OBJECTIVES: Clarity f prject. Addresses prject specificatins and requirements as indicated n the design cncept statement. Articulates the scpe f prject within the cmpetitin entry frmat. AESTHETICS: Overall visual results f the prject and the entry frmat. Design principles and elements. INNOVATION: Incrprates a new ideas r mre-effective slutins that meet the stated requirements r unarticulated needs, accmplished thrugh new applicatins f prducts, prcesses r technlgies that are readily available t the public. COMPETITION RESULTS ASID MD reserves the right t be the first t annunce the winners f the cmpetitin. N press releases r public ntificatins annuncing winners names may be sent prir t the ASID Awards Event, r ASID MD Perspective.
