The Macedon Ranges MS Cycle Challenge will be held again on Sunday 2 May Organised by the Rotary Club of Gisborne, this recreational bicycle ride will take riders through the picturesque Macedon Ranges region, showcasing some of the best roads and scenery in the state. 100% of the funds raised will be used for community and charitable projects supported by Rotary. The major cause supported will be Multiple Sclerosis, which is a debilitating disease of the nervous system affecting an estimated 18,000 Australians. Our aim is to achieve a breakthrough in research for a cure. The Rotary Club of Gisborne, in association with other Rotary Clubs throughout Australia have provided funding and support for PhD research on brain repair in MS, nursing exchanges between countries to transfer therapeutic and patient management techniques, and are actively involved as a facilitator between the many groups involved in MS care and research. Half the net funds raised will be donated to MS projects. Inquiries: tel For those who want a great ride, the Macedon Ranges is home to some of Victoria's most picturesque townships, mountain ranges, and quality food and wine... and it's less than an hour Northwest of Melbourne! The Macedon Ranges Cycle Challenge will take riders through one of the State s most interesting regions on good sealed roads. Starts at New Gisborne to cycle through Woodend, Trentham, Daylesford, Kyneton, Mt Macedon to finish at New Gisborne. Two routes options are available to take in the splendour of the area; a 130km challenge ride including the climb over Mount Macedon or a shorter 77km for riders that prefer to take things easier. Challenge yourself hard, or take time out to pause for a tea, coffee or cake at one of the villages or hamlets en-route. Either way, you won't be disappointed! Registration fee: $75.00 per rider.
