3 13:00-15:00 Session 2 Interaction Session on Phase I: Stock-taking and Analysis Activities of MYAP This session will focus on the Phase I: Stock-taking and Analysis Activities currently outlined in the MYAP. This phase is intended to work as a stocktaking period, during which economies can voluntarily do a review of their Policies, Best Practices, Technology Development & Knowledge Sharing, and Capacity Building efforts. The session will focus on developing specific, actionable activities that can be undertaken by APEC economies to achieve the objectives of the MYAP. Participants will be grouped according to the four strategic themes of the Framework and will review activities via the lens of the four sub-sectors of Rice, Aquaculture and Livestock. 15:00 15:30 Coffee break 15:30 17:30 Session 3 Interactive Session on Phase 1I: Training and Development Activities of MYAP Following on from the previous session, this session will focus on the Phase II: Training and Development Activities currently outlined in the MYAP. Once the stocktaking and analysis activities have been completed in Phase I, economies can voluntarily choose to implement Phase II to identify, coordinate and deliver opportunities for training and improving practices for Policy, Best Practices, Technology Development & Knowledge Sharing, and Capacity Building efforts. The session will focus on developing specific, actionable activities that can be undertaken by APEC economies to achieve the objectives of the MYAP. 17:45-18:00 Wrap Up and Close Day 1 DAY TWO 23 June :30 9:00 Arrival and Registration 9:00 9:15 Session Session 5 Overview of Day 1 Outcomes Moderator: Dr. Godefroy Grosjean, CIAT Hanoi This session provides an overview of the outcomes from Day 1 of the workshop. Dr. Leocadio Sebastian, CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) and International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) Following on from the interactive sessions on Day 1, this panel discussion provides an opportunity for participants to discuss key issues relating to the themes of the Action Plan Session 6 Presentation and discussion on APEC projects Ms. Nadira Mailewa, Economic and Human Security Specialist A brief presentation focusing on APEC project guidelines and processes to inform the discussion on concept notes planned for Session Coffee Break Session 7 Interactive Session Implementation of the MYAP The aim of this session is to discuss preliminary ideas for APEC projects that can be supported under the MYAP. Participants will discuss in groups, what activities could be implemented under the different phases of the MYAP. The ideas discussed by participants will form the basis for future concept notes to be funded by APEC as well as through other sources of funding. 12:00 13:00 Lunch 13:00 14:00 Session :00 Closing Session Panel Discussion on Cross-Cutting Activities for the MYAP 1. Mr. Mawe Gonapa - Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Papua New Guinea The discussions will focus on coordination issues involving the implementation of the MYAP as this involves several APEC fora. This session will also focus on a future APEC host PNG and how this work aligns with PNG s host year policy priorities and issues. Mr. Tran Kim Long, International Cooperation Department, Ministry of This session focuses on next steps and process involved in finalizing the MYAP in the lead up to the APEC Food Security Week, and formally launching the MYAP and the establishment of the Core Team; comprising Viet Nam, Papua New Guinea, Chile and Malaysia. 4
