8 Step 1 - RA Identification en Authentication Through «Certificates» that are delivered through Certification Authorities E.g. : Belgian ID Card used in e-health E.g.of CA: Certipost - TrustCenter - Verizon Verisign Those certificates needs to be «Registered» through a Registration Authority (RA) RA 9

10 What does this mean for the healthcare Health professionals answers a field request by health professionals in hospitals, labs,.. to have a login, access control, electronic signature tool answers a European directive 2005/CE36 for professional mobility in Europe and patient data protection (anticipates national laws probably in timeframe) obtain an electronic identity (= PKI certificate), universal across all applications a universal mean to be used in all professional applications, allow them to have solutions for authentication and electronic signature have a SINGLE electronic identity across applications certificate is free for the end user (for example: paid by labs) 12

11 What does this mean for the healthcare Health actors (labs, hospitals, ) equip their target population (health professionals) with an electronic identity that is unique and shared (cost is shared across different actors and paid once per professional) enable their applications and services (local and online) using this electronic certificate as a mean for authentication, identification, electronic signature, integrity, enable online and remote applications requiring identification, authentication 13

12 Strategy The healthcare professional must be able to communicate through the digital channels in an easy & transparant way. This with a «unique» recognition by the system. Cegedim wants to stay in the middle of the communication between the healthcare professionals & the healthcare industry. Cegedim is looking for a «neutral» platform (CMF or ). This platform aims to bring the different actors together that are involved in the communication of the healthcare professionals & the healthcare industry and service providers. Cegedim continues to offer database services. Cegedim wants to develop new services around «electronic identification databases». Cegedim continues to develop applications that can use the different digital communication channels. 14
