Track 2: Internet of Things & Cloud Studio D Mobile Enabled Smart Homes Mobile devices empower seniors and persons with disabilities to remotely control and program switches, thermostats, lights, entertainment devices, including television, and multiple home appliances with wireless connections. Smart homes also include automated safety and alert features enabled by mobile devices and the Internet of Things. Panelists will present solutions and their implementation in support of seniors, Veterans and persons with disabilities adopting Smart Homes for greater independence. Track 3: All-inclusive Daily Living Studio E Reading: e-books and e-publishing The Association of American Publishers supports the establishment of EPUB 3 as the global standard format for e-books and has embarked on a new initiative designed to rapidly advance EPUB 3 implementation in the marketplace. Yet, the larger e-books distributors are working with their own proprietary file formats and accessibility features. How are those various formats evolving and what is the experience of end users and publishers dealing with those multiple options? And is the development of audio books indirectly restricting the availability of text-to-speech options for persons with disabilities? Track 4: Policies & Standards Studio F Standards and Guidelines for Accessible Mobile Devices, Apps and Mobile Web With a majority of on-line activities shifting to mobile platforms and mobile form factors and mobile apps driving an increasing share of Internet traffic, standards and guidelines for accessible mobile web and mobile apps are more necessary than ever. This panel will examine the very latest developments in mobile accessibility standards and guidelines and discuss how they compare to well-accepted web content accessibility guidelines. A discussion will ensue as to how to best promote their implementation. Track 5: Assistive Solutions Salon 2 Deaf and Hard of Hearing This session will cover the fast expanding sector of mobile apps available to users who are deaf or hard of hearing. After a kick-off presentation assessing the main advances of mobile apps and services for persons who are deaf or hard of hearing, the session will review innovative solutions in a panel format. The session will then open the floor to audience participants for the sharing of innovative apps, if any, in a Smackdown format, presenting as much as they can in 3 minutes each. Q&A will follow. Track 6: CMO/CIO Accessibility Imperative Salon 3 Security, Privacy, Biometrics and Bio-recognition Security processes can be a daunting barrier to accessing secured digital contents and services for persons with disabilities, seniors or persons with impairments limiting their interaction with devices. The latest generation of mobile handsets and operating systems is breaking this barrier by offering various biometric and bio-recognition 3 Page

This session will examine the process by which those new developments occur, cooperation with persons with disabilities in support of product development, roadblocks to overcome and which further accessibility innovations to expect. Track 2: Internet of Things & Cloud Studio D Industry Alliances for Interoperable Enabling Solutions Interoperability alliances have played a positive role in promoting innovation around communication standards, often led by micro-electronics and component manufacturers. With Near Field Communications (NFC), Internet of Things and multiple communications protocol supporting smart home applications, enabling solutions are definitely in need of industry alignment around common interoperable solutions. This panel will examine which areas of the M-Enabling Ecosystem are making progress in adopting universal interoperable solutions and which ones requires attention. Track 3: All-inclusive Daily Living Studio E Transacting and Paying Transacting and paying is increasingly a matter of interaction with digital interfaces via computer, mobile phones, ATMs, web sites or automated telephone systems. A recent report by G3ict shows the considerable implications for users who have difficulties interacting with digital financial system sand the work done by banks around the world in addressing those. This panel will examine the latest evolutions in deploying solutions allowing all users to interact with payment and transaction systems from POS to e-commerce web sites, mobile payments or ATMs. Track 4: Policies & Standards 4 Page

5 Studio F Allocating Radio Spectrum in Support of Enabling Mobile Solutions Radio spectrum allocations have considerable impact on the lives of persons with disabilities, from solutions for deaf and hard of hearing persons to NFCs, home automation or the Internet of Things for all users. This session, chaired by the ITU Radio Division, will stage a global discussion among IT companies, AT vendors, regulators and organizations of persons with disabilities of the increasing challenges that current spectrum allocations create for new inclusive technologies, applications and services and will review possible solutions. Track 5: Assistive Solutions Salon 2 Blind and Low Vision This session will cover the fast expanding sector of mobile apps available to users with visual impairments. After a kick-off presentation assessing the main advances of mobile apps and services for persons who are blind or have low vision, the session will review innovative solutions in a panel format. The session will then open the floor to audience participants for the sharing of apps in a Smackdown format, presenting as much as they can in 3 minutes each. Q&A will follow. Track 6: CMO/CIO Accessibility Imperative Salon 3 Fortune 500 Success Stories in the Senior Marketplace With the rapid expansion of the mobile senior market and Baby Boomers demographics, Fortune 500 companies are increasingly paying attention to designing products, services and communications that work for seniors. This panel will review the latest research available on the usage of technology and mobile services by seniors and explore success factors in addressing this burgeoning market place. Panelists will also discuss the unique characteristics of different senior demographic groups and methods in reaching them effectively with devices, contents and services. 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Grand Ballroom FCC Chairman s Awards for Advancement in Accessibility In its fourth edition, the Chairman s Awards for Advancement in Accessibility (Chairman s AAA), part of the FCC's Accessibility and Innovation Initiative (A&I Initiative), honor outstanding private and public sector ventures that advance accessibility for persons with disabilities. Ventures include mainstream or assistive technologies introduced into the marketplace, development of standards, and implementation of best practices that foster accessibility. Winners and honorable mentions will receive their awards from FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler. After the ceremony, winners will have the opportunity to share their innovations during a winner-mixer with all Summit attendees. Track 2: Internet of Things & Cloud Studio D Internet of Things for Travel and Public Spaces As a follow-up to the morning plenary panel, this session will explore how the Internet of Things may change the accessibility, safety and inclusiveness of travel and public spaces for leisure, social activities, work or education. While still in their infancy, emerging IP connected devices of all kinds interacting with remote systems already play an important role in everyday s activities for all users. Case studies and innovations in the works will be discussed during this panel including industry and user representatives. Track 3: All-inclusive Daily Living Studio E Interacting with Multi-media With the dramatic growth of video programming over the Internet, multiple challenges await users with disabilities since regulations that applied to traditional television are not applicable to Internet only video programming. This panel will explore the latest technical options made available in the market place and private sector initiatives addressing those issues as well as some of the best accessibility implementations achieved by traditional television broadcasters and cable operators. Track 4: Policies & Standards Studio F International Success Stories in Promoting Accessible Technologies and Services The promotion by industry of accessibility features of devices and applications, local accessibility policies, market trends among aging countries and the dynamic marketing of leading international mobile service providers demonstrate that accessibility is an effective competitive tool to expand markets and develop new customer loyalties while ensuring compliance. Track 2: Internet of Things & Cloud Studio D M-Health and Well-being Apps and Services M-Health apps are rapidly transforming the way health services are performed. The ability for health care professionals to remotely monitor, alert, inform, guide and interact with patients, as well as the multitude of self-care and wellness apps, are transforming practices while enhancing safety and productivity of services delivery. 9 Studio E Working and Learning Working and learning are critical aspects of the inclusion of persons with disabilities in society. This session will explore the latest trends and innovations in making workplace and learning environments more accessible. The panel will examine in particular the methods that organizations can adopt to ensure that beyond individual accommodations, essential tools and information sources are made accessible to all users including enterprise systems, professional social media, databases and electronic libraries, e-learning and other online resources. The panel will also discuss the potential contribution of mobile technologies to improving the accessibility of the workplace and learning environments. Track 4: Policies & Standards Studio F ITU-G3ict Model Mobile Policy In a landmark effort to facilitate the implementation by ratifying countries of the ICT accessibility dispositions of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), jointly with G3ict,the Global Initiative for Inclusive ICTs, published in late 2014 a series of model policies covering national legal frameworks, public access points, web sites, television, mobile phones and services and public procurement. This session will examine some of the most important features of those model policies including market considerations and the requirement to involve organizations of persons with disabilities in the preparation, development and monitoring of ICT accessibility policies and programs. Track 5: Assistive Solutions Salon 2 Mobility and Dexterity This session will cover the fast expanding sector of mobile apps available to users with mobility or dexterity impairments. After a kick-off presentation assessing the main technological advances of mobile apps and services addressing physical barriers, the session will review recently released solutions in a panel format. The session will then open the floor to audience participants for the sharing of apps, if any, in a Smackdown format, presenting as much as they can in 3 minutes each. Q&A will follow. Track 6: CMO/CIO Accessibility Imperative Salon 3 Making Societal Computing Work for All Beyond accessibility solutions focused on end user interfaces, this session will explore how, in an interconnected society with an ever growing adoption of e-government, e- commerce, e-education, teleworking and social media, large organizations serving a number of constituents must re-think their approach to promoting end-to-end accessible and useful solutions for seniors and users of all abilities, not just individual apps working in isolation. Apple includes groundbreaking assistive technology in its products, as standard features, at no additional cost. This session will explore the many ways Apple has implemented accessibility features into iphone, ipad and ipod touch devices and look at new products and services, such as the Apple watch and HomeHealth and HomeKit. Track 2: Internet of Things & Cloud Studio D Cloud Computing Solutions Cloud-based solutions make it possible for applications, data and personal preferences to be available to end users independently of the device they choose. For seniors and persons with disabilities, those characteristics, coupled with broadband wireless low latency networks and bio-metrics, open the door to making a number of applications and services far more accessible than they were before. Also of interest to persons with disabilities is the extent to which new cloud-based applications and services are accessible and interoperate with existing end users assistive technologies. Track 3: All-inclusive Daily Living Studio E Engaging with Others via Social Media The accelerated rate of adoption of social media by seniors and persons with disabilities is driven in large part by mobile devices and has a profound impact on their lives. This session will look at the many ways social media benefits seniors and persons with disabilities from family and social activities, health and wellness, safety to advocacy or simply breaking isolation and seclusion due to lack of mobility. Panelists will review examples of most successful social media activities and how major social media services are adapting their offerings to make them more accessible, usable and relevant to this fast growing group of social media users. Track 4: Policies & Standards Studio F Promoting Accessibility Professional Skills across Industries and Academia The newly formed International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) officially was launched in March The mission of the IAAP is to define, promote and improve the accessibility profession globally through networking, education and certification in order to enable the creation of accessible products, content and services. More than 1,500 professionals joined the organization since its inception. This session will provide an update on the latest development of the organization and its programs. 10 Page

11 Track 5: Assistive Solutions Salon 2 Seniors with Multiple Disabilities Accommodating the specific accessibility requirements of seniors with multiple disabilities is a challenge for service providers, care professionals and all organizations communicating via digital interfaces with the public. Indeed, in many cases, accessible solutions utilize alternate modes of communication which may be ineffective given other form of disabilities seniors may be living with. Information overload and speed of interaction are also major roadblocks in communicating with seniors whose attention, short memory, and ability to react quickly are lower than those of average adults. The panel will discuss how those issues may be best addressed and look at current examples of user interfaces designed with seniors in mind. Track 6: CMO/CIO Accessibility Imperative Salon 3 Engaging Persons with Disabilities in Accessibility Strategies This session will examine the successes of large corporations and public services involving persons with disabilities in the design, testing and marketing and promotion of accessible solutions. It will also look at how policies and programs of governments from around the world call upon organizations of persons with disabilities to provide input in the development, implementation and monitoring of accessibility policies and programs.
