1 DRAFT S T A T E O F M I C H I G A N BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF ALLEGAN June 14, 2012 TRANSPORTATION AWARD TRANSIT AVL-MDC SYSTEM SOFTWARE AND EQUIPMENT BID WHEREAS, on May 27, 2010, the Allegan County Board of Commissioners approved MDOT Project Authorization /Z21 to apply for and to accept when awarded capital funds in the amount of $113,603 for the purchase of AVL system dispatch software and equipment for our Transportation Program; and BE IT RESOLVED that the Allegan County Board of Commissioners hereby approves the recommendation from Transportation Department to award the bid for Transit AVL-MDC System (RFP #10128), in a bid amount not to exceed $91,278 with additional travel expenses in an amount not to exceed $5,000, to RouteMatch Software of 1180 W Peachtree Street, Suite 1130, Atlanta, GA, 30909; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board Chairman and/or the County Administrator are authorized to sign the necessary documents on behalf of the County.

Duration Amount $0.00 Purpose: Item(s): Recommend acceptance of the "Transit AVL MDC system" bid (#10128) and award to RouteMatch The AVL - MDC System will enable the RouteMatch software to locate vehicle in service in real-time. The Automated Vehicle Locator system uses Mobile Data Computers (MDCs) to allow drivers to have accurate, up-to-date information in their vehicles, resulting in increased safety and security. Through Automated Vehicle Location (AVL), an automated tracking system made possible by Global Positioning Systems (GPS), dispatchers can easily and dynamically view and locate drivers and collect trip and route data in real-time. This information provides the ability to locate and track vehicles, perform optimal dispatching, and maximize routing and scheduling efficiency. Routes information will be sent electronically to the vehicles. This will allow for easy trip additions and eliminate the use of paper manifests, reducing paper consumption of in excess of a hundred sheets a day. Total Bid Price $91, Budgeted?
