The envelope gaskets dimensions can be supplied on customer s requests or following the most important forms (ex.din 2690), the thickness can change based on composition required. Here below we present the composition of envelope gaskets: PTFE envelope The covering, called envelope, usually is supplied in a good quality of PTFE virgin (or if required Dyneon TFM 1600) usually thickness 0,6mm (this can change on customer s needs). The PTFE makes suitable the envelopes to be used in chemical, pharmaceutical and food industry due to his excellent physical-mechanical characteristics: - Excellent resistance to acids with protections of inserts - Can be used in food sector as it is a material with certification FDA 21 CFR ch 1 (supplied if requested) - Does not left residue on flanged surfaces so it can be substituted quickly - Resistance to changes of temperatures ( C) - Excellent dielectric characteristics - Low porosity The envelopes can be of different forms based on application and customer s needs. In case we have big dimensions envelope gaskets and small quantities production costs become very high, and therefore we can supply envelopes welded. The weldings are made on head : the excellent made of welding is assured by using the parameters suitable to temperature, pressure and time based on the thickness that must be welded. Elastomere : We have available all commercialized elastomeres in particular: EPDM, NBR, VITON (FKM), SILICON (CSM), NEOPRENE (CR), antigasoline rubber, white rubber for food, etc. modified PTFE these are some PTFE types that keep the thermic characteristics and chemical resistance properly of conventional PTFE, improving the elastic performances that are essential for flanges.
