2 BACKGROUND, MISSION, VISION AND VALUES BACKGROUND PROSPECTIVA began in 1977 to undertake Engineering Studies and Projects. The business began work in the field of Urban Water Supplies before rapidly expanding into other market segments: Environment, Water resources, Treatment of Drinking Water and Sewerage, Buildings, Transport, Means of Communication, Infrastructure, etc.. In 1988 PROSPECTIVA started to work in the Project Management, Coordination and Supervision of Construction Contracts areas. Subsequently, other areas of activity were added: Coordination of Health and Safety, Environmental Management and Professional Training.

3 Currently, PROSPECTIVA is an Engineering Consultancy Company with 34 years of activity, domestic and overseas (Africa), 200 persons and 8.1 M turnover, with two main areas of activity: 1. Design and Project Management (representing 20% of the annual turnover) and; 2. Construction Management and Site Supervision. Our key competences are: Transportation Infrastructures: Roads, Highways and Bridges; Water and Waste Water Systems and HydricResources; Buildings; Infrastructures and; Environment. Mission Following more than 30 years experience in the field of Engineering, Environment and Quality of life we are certain that we can make a positive contribution to to the sustainable development of the countries where we work as well as generating Value Added for our Customers and Partners. We are systematically improving our performance by the strict observance of the highest Technical, Scientific, Economic, Environmental, Ethical and Safety standards in order to maximise the Value Added from our activities in the communities where we work. Vision PROSPECTIVA is presently among the 10 largest Portuguese Engineering Consultancies. We are certain that by 2015 we will be one of the 5 largest with a strong international presence from where more than 50% of our turnover will be derived and with a permanent presence in several countries including Angola, Algeria, Cabo Verde, Lybia, Mozambique, Morroco and Brasil. 7 CERTIFICATES AND ACCREDITATION Prospectiva has introduced an Organisation Management System which is certified by the SGS ICS in accordance with NP EN ISO 9001:2008 (Quality), NP EN ISO 14001:2004 (Environment) and OHSAS (Safety). The system is applied in all work carried on by the company. The scope of the certification extends to the Provision of Services in all Fields of (i) Studies, Projects and Project Management, (ii) Coordination, Supervision and the Quality Management of Contracts and (iii) the Coordination of Health and Safety at Work. The Quality of the work carried out and the services supplied to customers is assured by the fulfilment of the methodologies and procedures implemented under the system which has been extensively tested with outstanding success. PROSPECTIVA is accredited by the Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil (LNEC) (National Civil Engineering Laboratory) as a General Quality control Manager for Construction contracts such as provided for under Decree Law 310/90. The company is qualified in three fields: (i) Buildings and Monuments, (ii) Means of Communication and Urban Development; and (iii) Water Management.
