1 About Isaf History ISAF is a series of Symposia organized a non-profit informal international organization which brings together technologists, technical experts, technology providers and executives on various fields pertaining to Alcohol Fuel Industry, who share their ideas and consider solutions to the challenges faced as lying ahead. The main aim of ISAF is to look for innovations for sustainability of substitute energy sources like alcohol fuels and other alternative fuels like methanol and ethers, etc. The ISAF is committed to further the cause of research, development and utilization of alcohol fuels to accelerate the exploitation of clean alternate fuels for vehicles and to reduce environmental pollution both from industrial and motor sources. ISAF is a well recognized and respected Worldwide Symposium on alcohol fuels and other renewables. So far other 18 ISAFs editions have been held in all the continents i.e. Africa (South Africa), Americas (Canada, Brazil-Twice and three times), Asia (China, Japan and Thailand), Europe (Germany, France, Italy and Sweden twice) and Oceania (New Zealand). ISAF XVIII was held in New Delhi (India) in The ISAF Symposium is held approximately every two years and encompasses within its fold technologists and technology providers presenting and show casing their latest works on technologies for the industry on alcohol fuels and other alternative fuels from all over the World. The theme of ISAF XIX 2011 is Innovation for local and global sustainability of alcohol fuels. In addition to delving on the various methodologies and technologies for the production of alcohol fuels, ISAF XIX will also have a major thrust on the most important and up-to-date topic of 1st and new generation biofuels, and the deployment of innovative sustainable biofuel production technologies and processes. A large number of lectures and presentations shall be presented on the latest methodologies and technologies available all over the World, from research to demonstration. ISAF XIX will be co-located with the 2nd Lignocellulosic Bioethanol Conference, a major event on 2nd generation bioethanol technologies organised the European Commission and Brazil. Registered ISAF delegates will also be allowed to attend this parallel event. 1/6

2 Methodology And Administration Of Isaf ISAF is administered and supervised an International Organizing Committee (IOC) which consists of senior technical personalities from various countries all over the World. The current Chairman of IOC is Dr. V.N.Raina, Director General- AIDA (All India Distillers Association), India. In addition, for the purpose of conducting operations of ISAF and other procedures it requires formation of a National Organizing Committee (NOC) which is formed members of the host country i.e. Italy for ISAF-XIX. The primary job of NOC is to conduct operations and to implement the organization of the Symposium. The NOC, chaired Dr D.Chiaramonti, sets up the focus and the structure of the Symposium programme and takes care of all the day to day operational organization while the ISAF Symposium takes place. It also defines the topic and selects and invites the speakers to the plenary sessions to disseminate information to promote ISAF-XIX through a number of networks of professionals from the host country and from any other organization who are active in the field. The NOC, with the assistance of the IOC, also reviews and approves the extracts and final papers to maintain the high quality standards of the Symposium which is the hallmark of the ISAF. The NOC is divided into a Scientific Committee, a Stakeholder Committee and an Institutional and Associations Committee. 2/6
