7 37 Boilers District Wide Facts Current Average Boiler Age is 36 Years 15 Boilers are Over 43 Years of Age Post-ESIP the Average Age will be 17 Years 13 Boilers in 6 Schools (Wayne Hills, George Washington, JF Kennedy, Ryerson, T. Dey & AP Terhune) will be replaced with New High Efficiency Natural Gas Hot Water Condensing Boilers AERCO Benchmark Post ESIP 21 Boilers in 9 Schools will be 10 Years of Age or Less WAYNE TOWNSHIP PUBLIC SCHOOLS 7

10 INTERIOR LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS 16,165 Fixtures will be replaced, rebuilt or upgraded with new high efficiency T-8s 42% of classroom & hallway fixtures will be replaced 450 new LED, dimmable fixtures for gymnasiums 2,141 new occupancy lighting controls sensors will detect through motion for occupants EXTERIOR LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS 433 new exterior lighting fixtures will be installed Wall pack directories, flood lights, box and cobra head style fixtures will be replaced with LEDs WAYNE TOWNSHIP PUBLIC SCHOOLS 10
11 Interior Lighting LEDs for high mounted fixtures such as in gymnasiums where reduced maintenance frequency would offset higher LED costs High efficiency T8 fixtures will be used for classrooms, offices and hallways Exterior Lighting LED light output is equivalent to most exterior fixtures including metal halide fixtures Power consumption is reduced by 50% 90% lumen maintenance at 70,000 hours LEDs will replace 450 existing exterior lighting fixtures WAYNE TOWNSHIP PUBLIC SCHOOLS 11

20 The recommendation of the Facilities Committee is to use the $1.3 Mil. in New Jersey Smart Start Rebate Funds Forecasted to be secured from the ESIP Program in the Fiscal Years. Funds would be used towards Capital outlay for replacement of the four Wayne Valley Hot Water & Steam Boilers that would be approximately 40 years of age by summer 2017 When completed the average District Building Boiler Age will be 14 years of age by October 2017 In the Span of Three Years a Reduction of the Average Age of the District Boilers went from 40 to the Average of 14 years. ALL AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE DISTRICT WAYNE TOWNSHIP PUBLIC SCHOOLS 20
