Position Title Web Officer HEW Level HEW 4 School / Unit Faculty / Division Reports to Direct Reports Indirect Reports Contract Type Marketing and Communications Vice Chancellor s Division Web Optimisation Specialist/Web Team Lead N/A N/A Full time ROLE DESCRIPTION The Web Officer leads and co-ordinates web content training for internal University staff, manages incoming web content support requests and is responsible for internal communication with the University s web publishing community. This role is pivotal in providing support to all Web Team members and contributing to a team-first culture. OVERVIEW OF UNIT/SCHOOL AND POSITION CONTEXT The Marketing and Communications (M&C) unit, located within the Vice - Chancellor s Division engages with all Faculties and Divisions across the University and combines rigorous market intelligence with an in-depth understanding of brand strategy to develop and drive the University s brand, messaging and position. The M&C unit facilitates the delivery of the University s NeW Futures Strategic Plan by building and enhancing the University s reputation; promoting and supporting the University s innovation, entrepreneurship and industry engagement initiatives; and leading and supporting undergraduate, postgraduate and pathways student recruitment efforts for domestic and international markets. The M&C unit leverages an in-depth understanding of media planning across multiple channels to bring these strategies to market, including direct
2 and indirect advertising both online and offline, web, social media, corporate communications, University wide recruitment events and internal communications. ORGANISATION CHART ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TYPICAL ACTIVITIES Areas of accountability listed in approximate order of importance and time commitment Area of accountability Core Responsibilities & Typical Activities Measures of Performance Web Content Training Co-ordinate the preparation and delivery of web content training to internal stakeholders. Coordinating the production of training manuals and materials. Conducting training sessions and coordinating the training session using online tools and processes.
3 Management of booking training rooms. Administrating web publishers and approvers CMS access details. Communications Provide critical communications to the broader University web publishing community regarding CMS upgrades, potential outages or any other web specific matters. Communications are professional with positive stakeholder feedback. Web Support Monitor incoming support requests received through the web support system and action requests. Prioritise web support requests and escalate requests to appropriate team member in the Web Team for actioning based on importance or urgency. Provide advice in line with the University s website policies, procedures and guidelines, with the support of Web Team members. Provide support to all teams in the Unit for web publishing and updating of web content, as required. Support requests or issues are referred and/or resolved in a timely manner. Positive stakeholder feedback. Issues are resolved in line with University policies and procedures. Reporting Run monthly reports out of the support management system highlighting the support status of number of web requests received, in progress and resolved. Deliver monthly report in a timely manner and to specification. POSITION CHARACTERISTICS Organisational Knowledge Professional / Industry Experience Sound knowledge of University web policies and processes as well as overall unit objectives and strategies. Sound knowledge of communications and web environment, including web content management systems and support the production of reports and other analytics.

INHERENT REQUIREMENTS This Position Description outlines the major accountabilities/responsibilities and the selection criteria against which you will be assessed as suitable for the position. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA A relevant degree in marketing or communications with subsequent relevant experience in a similar position; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Experienced in web content production and publishing, as well as experience using web content management systems (WCMS) ideally Squiz Matrix. Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications, Adobe Captivate and Microsoft Office programs. Demonstrated experience maintaining exceptional customer service and communicating in a professional manner with people across various levels of an organisation. Experience developing and implementing communication plans and training programs, plus preparing associated content and materials e.g. how-to-guides. Demonstrated ability providing content and technical support via , phone and face to face to a large number of stakeholders. Excellent organisational, attention to detail, time management and prioritisation skills for working on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and meeting project deadlines. Experience assisting in the development of a website governance framework, including the ongoing management, monitoring and evaluation of website content using relevant policies and analytical tools. Demonstrated knowledge of workplace obligations to, and experience in leading and cultivating workplace practices and behaviours that promote, support and maintain a safe, healthy, equitable, diverse and respectful workplace; including responding appropriately to adverse accidents, incidents, behaviours, issues, reports and the like. CONDITIONS & BENEFITS HEW Level 4 from $61,808 to $67,185 plus contributory superannuation with Unisuper, attracting a generous employer contribution of 17%.
