2 Who is HRPA and what do we do? The Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) is the professional regulator and the professional member association for 22,000 Human Resources professionals in Ontario. As a regulator it protects employers and the working public by ensuring the currency, competence and ethical practice of its HR practitioner members. As an association it connects members with an unmatched range of HR information resources, events, professional development and networking opportunities and annually hosts Canada s largest HR conference. The Role of HRPA Chapters Most members know the association through its province-wide chapter network. The fundamental mission of an HRPA Chapter is to create a rich membership experience consisting of professional networking, mentoring, professional development and other social benefits through local activities, and by creating volunteering opportunities for members. About HRPA Durham Region Chapter Founded in 1982 the Human Resources Professionals Association Durham Chapter celebrated its 30th anniversary in With over 800 members representing a broad base of HR roles, the Association has grown steadily over the past three decades and continues to attract new members. HRPA Durham strives to serve the needs of the Durham HR community through the Association's programs, services, and networking opportunities. Durham Chapter aims to be recognized as a thought leader on human resources related issues within the local business communities within the region. We are a constituent Chapter of the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA), and are governed by an elected board of HR practitioners. Through the Durham Chapter s efforts in communications, professional development and advocacy, we assist our members to contribute their very best as human resources professionals. We value the diversity of our membership in 2

3 terms of who they are as people and commit to be an inclusive organization as we carry out our mission and goals. Our members live or work in one of the following municipalities of Durham Region: Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Courtice, Bowmanville, Clarington, Uxbridge and Port Perry. HRPA Chapter Awards are bestowed annually to the chapters that achieve high levels of member engagement. The award for retention is to recognize that Durham Chapter has one of the highest percentage of member renewals against total members by the end of the fiscal year among all of the chapters. 4 2017/18 Sponsor Partnership Opportunities PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM Events: September 2017 June 2018 (includes webinars) Professional Development and networking are two of the cornerstones of the HRPA Durham Region Chapter. To that end, the Chapter presents a number of events throughout the year that encompass PD and/or networking. The Professional Development program is primarily focussed on education and learning. The new PD schedule begins in September 2017 and runs throughout the programming year. Sponsors of the PD Program receive recognition throughout the year at each of these events as well as pre- and post-event promotion. *Average Attendance: 40+ per event; minimum 3 full membership e-blast communications prior to event, social media promotion on LinkedIn and Twitter, web site promotion on Chapter Events pages, follow-up feedback surveys to participants. 7 Special Events Partnerships 1. December Social: December is a time for socializing with friends and colleagues and HRPA Durham Region members are no exception. The December Social is an opportunity for you to connect directly with HRPA Durham Region members in an informal and fun environment. The focus of this event includes networking amongst colleagues, peer recognition and raising funds for the Chapter s Charity of Choice. Luncheon event with casual networking and a speaker. *Average Attendance: 100+, minimum 3 full membership e-blast communications prior to event, social media promotion on LinkedIn and Twitter, web site promotion on Chapter Events pages follow-up feedback survey to participants. 2. Employment Law Conference: Presented by Hicks Morley, the 2018 Employment Law Conference is set to be another huge success. The focus of the Employment Law Conference is to inform attendees of the newest and most important aspects of various areas of employment law. The Employment Law Conference is the best opportunity to reach a wide number of people and businesses, having participants from not only the Durham Chapter but from other Chapters and non-members as well. The exposure during the conference is substantial. 12 Next Steps Sponsorship will be allotted strictly on a first come, first served basis. This means that if you are interested in securing a sponsorship spot you must: Call or Rebecca Lauzon HRPA Durham Region Chapter Administrator, indicating which level of sponsorship you would like and, in case a spot is taken, please indicate a 2nd choice if you wish to accept one. You will receive an confirming your sponsorship. Phone: info@hrpadurham.ca Make cheque payable to Human Resources Professionals Association. Indicate on the cheque the name of the portfolio (e.g.: Professional Development, Special event, etc) and the name of the Chapter. The sponsorship cheque must be received within 10 business days of receiving your confirmation. If the funds are not received within 10 days, the sponsorship spot will be released and open to others.
