2 The development of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) will impact on all parts of the transport ecosystem. Operators, planners & their advisors are adapting their businesses to be ready for this new concept. If your staff don t understand MaaS, how will your business compete? This workshop will explore how the latest tech is being used to develop MaaS propositions & stimulate staff to consider the full implication of this transformation. They will be encouraged to consider their part in developing relevant services. The workshop stimulates discussion & staff development, it will give your company the edge in the MaaS industry. Provide an interactive session explore the challenge of MaaS to traditional transport companies. Staff will gain insight into emerging tech integral to MaaS services. Staff will be empowered to influence the company s service development. Up-skilled staff will influence how company can lead development of services & compete in MaaS landscape. The Rail Innovation Group works to build relationships between our network of tech companies & transport professionals: we are offering this workshop as part of our programme to ensure that knowledge of MaaS implementation is shared across the transport industry before it s too late to lead its adoption. Our close relationship with many tech companies gives us the most up-todate insight on developments & our experience working within the transport industry means that we are able to build trust & confidence in our delivery. Our key focus is to identify what existing staff can do to bring positive change to their company & the wider industry.

3 Why is This Workshop Valuable? Traditional companies have a worrying problem: how will they continue to provide relevant services when new types of companies are entering the market to create & exploit the opportunities created by MaaS? In order to continue to provide relevant advice & services existing service providers need to ensure that they can use their native experience to lead the development of new relationships & services. Companies can save money by up-skill their existing staff, building on their detailed knowledge of transport with an understanding of digital services. This workshop provides the context to encourage staff to begin this journey. Without this initiative to encourage staff to become comfortable with terms & services offered as part of the MaaS proposition, competing organisations will have the edge & reinforce this advantage though their ability to attract the best digital talent in future. This workshop will give employees the confidence to develop their skills base though identifying how they can take contribute to the company's development of applicable services. Workshop Format The workshop is suitable for a group of up to 20 participants. The workshop will involve two interactive sessions with staff on the topic of MaaS before they are challenged to create their own proposals & present them to their peers using the social & digital influencing skills we will cover.

4 Workshop Themes & Skills Development Workshop discussions & activities will assess how competing organisations & MaaS providers are branding their services & using knowledge & culture to attract new clients, talent & investors. The proposed workshop will provide employees with a role in informing management decisions on developing a competitive organisation. Many digital agencies, start ups & MaaS providers are entering the transport market with no reference to legacy skills & experience, they are able to create a sense of excitement through their use of video content, attractive graphics & social media content. The workshop will ensure that your organisation can capitalise on existing experience & skills base to out perform new entrants by being equally as 'exciting' yet with the experience to provide informed advice & services. We will provide an opportunity for employees to generate their own content using new media channels. The company will benefit as their staff will develop their skills to critically assess how organisations generate new sales opportunities & will build on their presentational skills using new media formats. Additionally, staff will be empowered to consider how to: develop new services for clients, create a modern workplace culture. build the company s brand to reflect modern, relevant & creative image for both sales & future recruitment.

6 About the Rail Innovation Group The Rail Innovation Group is an independent community with a mission to promote the adoption of new ideas & tech in rail. To promote these activities we encourage an adaptable, digitally proficient culture within rail s workforce. The Group will supply two resources to lead the workshop. Liam Henderson Liam Henderson is a Transport Planner with extensive experience working on the development of passenger-focussed transport networks. He is the Chair of cross-industry collaboration initiative, The Rail Innovation Group, working to bring new ideas and tech into rail. He has guided the community into an influential voice for start ups within the rail landscape. With a passion for improving the user experience, he created Transporting Cities to encourage the adoption of global best practice to help clients identify where specific, tangible improvements in the customer experience and service delivery can improve patronage and increase revenue. Milda Manomaityte Milda is an events & marketing professional, specialising in aviation & rail sectors. Having started her carrier as a transport journalist, she has used those skills to co-found & run the Global AirRail Alliance, promoting rail access to airports. Milda is passionate about creating inclusive & engaging events, always looking to innovate & making sure that the participants have the best value from their meetings.
