1 Cinema Manager App Design and Develop Challenge Design Story Persona User experience journey Point of view Mock-up Link to study Story This app is for the cinema (movie theater) industry and could also be easily adapted for other busy, ticket-based, capacity-restricted businesses such as events, shows and theme parks. It is aimed at multiplex cinema managers who are responsible for running multi-screen cinemas with staff and customers in multiple locations. Managers are responsible for managing and adjusting staffing levels according to the number of customers (tickets sales), aiming to achieve a balance of good customer service with good control over costs. Ticket sales are also influenced by weather, so forecasts can help predict sales and staffing requirements. Managers also handle customer queries about films and ad-hoc tasks each day. The app is ideal for use on small devices but works on all sizes. The manager s role means spending a lot of time moving around different areas of the building such as the lobby, concessions, queue areas and screens, particularly at busy times, and the mobile-first design of this app helps them see real-time information on the move, to help them manage their business effectively.

5 Develop Building a Backend OData Service SAP Web IDE Fiori App Development Building a Backend OData Service This was optional, but I prepared an OData service and EDMX file on a backend system (SAP NetWeaver 7.50 on SAP HANA). Firstly, I created seven tables in SE11: I have a main ZCINE_DAY table which is used for the DaySet in the Fiori master view and six further tables which are used in the six icon tabs in the detail view. I created some data in each of the tables with SE16:

6 I built a service in SAP Gateway (SEGW), set up the associations and wrote the required ABAP methods for each entity set to select from the HANA database tables:

7 SAP Web IDE Fiori App Development I created a destination for my backend system in the SAP HANA Cloud Platform (HCP). In the Web IDE I used the SAP Fiori Master-Detail template wizard to create a basic Master-Detail application linked to my OData service: I used the Web IDE Layout Editor on the detail view to create the six icon tabs:

8 I added some controls and fine-tuned various elements like the sap.m.column: Demand Popin = true Popin Display = WithoutHeader Min Screen Width = 950px to ensure the film synopsis (the long description of the film) was first to pop out of a table column onto its own line: I created some local mock data like that on the backend server so the application can run with the live server or with mock data:
