2 General information for interested companies Business Administration / Logistics and Transportation What is a company-linked study programme? A company-linked or dual study programme combines specialist theory with a practice-oriented training component. The students change their place of study between the company and the university. At the Department of Cooperative Studies the students complete courses towards the award of a university degree and in their respective training companies they gain practical work experience. With this combination the students are optimally prepared for the labour market and very much focused on the partner company. The Department of Cooperative Studies of the Berlin School of Economics and Law (Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin) provides over 2000 university places in 17 dual bachelor degree courses which are offered in collaboration with more than 700 companies. The dual study courses are among the most attractive study offers in the capital region of Berlin. The major advantages for participating in this programme: Selection of the applicant students by the companies themselves Vocational training on university standard in small groups Early social integration in the company (employee status of the students) Company involvement in syllabus development Responsibility of the companies during the practical phases Qualified practitioner as lecturers Company representation in university governing bodies Development of qualification profile which match the current demand of the economy Objective of studies The bachelor degree course Business Administration Logistics and Transportation of the Faculty of Company- Linked Programmes of the Berlin School of Economics and Law is oriented towards the actual demand for on a high level in business and logistics trained personnel for industry, trade, third part logistics providers and other service industry companies. The degree course offers a comprehensive and multi-faceted training in this area. This can be seen in the current curriculum as well as the close collaboration with the modern logistics industry. The degree course provides an efficient and practice-oriented training with the latest state-of-field knowledge. The logistic and transport orientation is an essential part of. The course is accredited as an intensive study course by AQAS, a governmental approved agency for quality assignments and certification according to European education standards. 4 Admission requirements To be eligible for the dual Bachelor degree course» Business Administration Logistics and Transportation«the following requirements * have to be met: Higher education entrance qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung) Contract (on a form) with a suitable apprenticeship institution / company Excellent English skills proved by TOEFL- or ELSA-test* For applicants from abroad the various types of certification may have to be checked by the following institution (for acceptance please provide verified copies): Arbeits- und Servicestelle für internationale Studienbewerbungen (uni-assist) e. Graduates of the small and extended German language diploma and graduates of»oberstufenpruefung (ZOP)«by the Goethe-Institut do not need the DSH. As well as Test-DaF-Graduates with the result of TDN degree 4 in all four tests. More information about TestDaF see under: www. testdaf.de * For the international course it is additionally necessary to prove excellent English skills: TOEFL ibt (87 points), TOEFL ITP (543 points) or ELSA (383 points). How can companies become partners of the dual system? Companies who want to let their future workforce be trained at the Faculty of Company-Linked Programmes have to be registered in the faculty list of cooperative companies. The company has to fulfill the following criteria: The ability to train the students according to the curriculum in terms of content and training personnel. Prospective students who are interested in a dual study have to apply directly to the cooperative companies. The companies often can choose between a large number applicants and finally sign a contract (article of apprenticeship) with the person which seems to be most suitable for the company. The Faculty of Company-Linked Programmes is financed by the Berlin government. The expenses of the practical training are covered by the company. The students receive an apprenticeship pay from the company for the whole three years. The payment level is oriented at the generale wage agreement and is subject to social insurance contribution.
