Sattlethight V.P., Statistics & Business Information Manager, Statistical Programs Tel: Tel: Fax: Fax: U.S. AND CANADIAN SHIPMENTS OF ALUMINUM SHEET AND PLATE Report for December 2009 Issued: January 19, 2010 Based on Aluminum Association surveys, estimated net shipments of Aluminum Sheet and Plate by U.S. and Canadian producers totaled million pounds during December 2009, a rise of 1.9 percent over the December 2008 total of million pounds. Compared to the previous month, shipments declined 2.3 percent from the November 2009 revised total of million pounds. Preliminary shipments for 2009 totaled 7,069.2 million pounds, off 14.0 percent from the 2008 total of 8,220.7 million pounds. Shipments of Can Stock totaled million pounds during December 2009, down eight-tenths of one percent from December 2008, while shipments of Non-heat Treatable Sheet (excluding Can Stock) increased 13.6 percent to million pounds and All Other Sheet and Plate decreased 10.2 percent to 45.3 million pounds. Participating U.S. and Canadian companies account for approximately 99 percent of the industry total.
