Financial Support NEP s Growing Places programme provides capital loans to projects requiring infrastructure to unlock development. With a total pot of 5.8m, loans from the scheme will help provide long-term solutions to support new homes and jobs, and to stimulate economic growth across Northamptonshire. Recruitment and Skills NEP s Jobs Brokerage team is an innovative single point of contact for Northamptonshire s employers and young people into work. The team guides and helps businesses (large and small) through the process of recruiting staff and apprentices. It has supported 350 young people into work in the last year. Following a pilot with Knights of Old, NEP and Job Centre Plus designed an LGV training scheme which resulted in eight candidates being fully funded to take their licence. The scheme is being rolled out across Northamptonshire for logistics companies based in the county. 5 NEP s Industry Focus Groups A number of innovative and proactive industry focus groups are run by NEP for the benefit of companies based in Northamptonshire. Although extremely popular, the groups always welcome new members to benefit from a wide range of topics, debate about legislation, advice on energy-saving best practice, HR and so on. The group also undertakes a yearly salary and benefits survey. Northamptonshire Customer Services Group The group allows those in customer services to share best practice and knowledge concerning a comprehensive range of issues relating to customer services including social media. Northamptonshire Environment Group Regular items on the agenda of this group include legislation updates, anaerobic digestion and energy-saving best practice. Northamptonshire High Energy Users Group Essentially, the group is a self-help network of practitioners accountable for sustainability and energy reduction in the workplace. Shared experiences, knowledge gain, a debate on legislation and individual support towards achieving energy reduction and sustainability goals are some of the benefits. Northamptonshire Health & Safety Group The group shares best practice and information on a wide range of topics related to Health & Safety. Past meetings have included a drama master class around behavioural safety, legislation updates and presentations from the HSE.
