Concept must be submitted in PDF format. Multiple pages can be submitted, as needed. Image may be hand drawn or computer generated from any program, but saved/printed to PDF. At a minimum, provide your overall build height, width and depth dimensions. (Additional dimensions of individual components are appreciated, but not necessary). For structures with any component in excess of 3 feet tall, please provide profile views of each side of your structure. 6 MEDIA CONTACT FORM SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 6/26-7/21/2017 Media Contact Form Team Name: {YOUR TEAM NAME HERE} Canstruction is a visual art that conveys a powerful message and is ideal for media coverage. St. Mary s and their cause benefits from both our food donation as well as the media coverage. To help promote the event and generate community interest, the committee works to gain publicity for the event at every step of the process. Teams can benefit from this media exposure as well! A great way to get exposure for your firm is to open your team practices sessions to the media! It stirs up interest for the upcoming build as well as provides an opportunity for undivided attention to your team. Don t worry, you don t have to give away any trade secrets before build day, and you can discuss limitations on what will be publicly shared with any interested media. 8 OFFICIAL SIGN FORM SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 7/07/2016 Logo(s) and Text for Official Canstructure Sign Team Name: {YOUR TEAM NAME HERE} As stated in the rules, each team will have a single mandatory 24 x 36 foam-core board (self-sustaining easel back) that sits adjacent to the entry/structure. This will have the description of your structure, team member s names, and additional recognitions. The graphics for the mandatory sign will be done by the Canstruction committee and are NOT created by your firm. There is an official graphic standard for the layout that is used for all entries. If you have contributors that must have their logos prominently displayed, each team is welcome to produce one additional easel backed board, created and produced by your firm, at your firm s expense. the information requested below as a Word Document and logo graphic files to phxcanstruction@gmail.com Do not format or change your Word Document in any way. Flush left on all text Enter a return between each piece of information required. No columns No text boxes, no pictures boxes, no graphics, no logos (firm or contributors) No color DO NOT DO YOUR OWN FORMATTING! INFORMATION TO BE PROVIDED FOR ENTRY SIGNAGE i The information requested should be submitted in a Word file in the following order (Do NOT list these category titles in your document but follow this order for providing the required information.) See a sample of the text on the next page. Firm Name the way it should officially appear in the program Title of Entry If any word in your title is to be italicized do so. Description of the Structure. Keep to one paragraph. This is what is provided to the jurors and public as they view each entry. The descriptions are most helpful in drawing the jurors and publics eye to the detail in each design, play on words, double entendres with the label names, etc. Don t get caught up in making long drawn out philosophical statements keep that to one sentence and let your entry speak for itself. Spend your time describing the choices you made in cans and labels to articulate your theme. SPELL CHECK 5-Person Team Names CAPTAIN FIRST (no exceptions, no co-captains) followed by the rest of the team in alphabetical order get names spelled correctly you must designate one team captain. 12 DELIVERY DATE/TIME REQUEST SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 7/14/2017 Can Delivery to St. Mary s Team Name: {YOUR TEAM NAME HERE} Because of logistics and regulations at the convention center docks, we have made arrangements for teams to take their cans to St. Mary s Food Bank before the event, with St. Mary s taking the collective load to the convention center for the build. You will receive a notice to request/sign-up for a delivery time at a later date. A sample prior schedule is provided below. See information on the next page regarding labeling your cans upon delivery. * These dates are TENTATIVE and subject to change. Page 12

13 Pallet Label Number Sheet Once you are assigned a number by the Canstruction Event Director, add your number to this sign and make multiple copies (minimum 16 is recommended) for placement on all sides of your pallets when cans are delivered to St. Mary s at your assigned time.
