1 LG GSFS -12 minutes May GSFS 1.1 LG Canada Service Parts (GSFS) Welcome to the LG Global Service Front System training. Your one stop shop for LG Service Parts.

2 1.2 Learning outcomes Once you have completed this training you will be able to answer the following questions: 1) What is the LG Global Service Front System (GSFS) website. 2) How do I recognize and find the correct LG model numbers that will be entered into the GSFS website? 3) How do I log in and navigate the site? 4) How do I look up parts, availability and pricing? 5) and, how do I place an order?

3 1.3 One-stop for parts At LG, we understand that, as Wolseley associates, your day is busy. With all the products and parts you work with, life can get a little complicated. To help, LG has created the new GSFS training. GSFS is LG's one-stop shop for service parts, allowing you to find part numbers, check stock availability, and order directly.

4 1.4 Inverter model number nomenclature Let's start with the basics - recognizing an LG air conditioner model number. LG model numbers look like this. The model numbers consist of the brand: L for LG or G, which is now discontinued and is for Goldstar. The type can be single, multi, cassette, etc. Next is the indoor/outdoor identifier digit: Inverters use U for outdoor and N for indoor. Single-speed compressor product uses O for outdoor and I for indoor. then we have the three-digit capacity code: For example, 091 is 9,000 BTU And the duty: C is cool-only, H is heat pump, etc.

5 1.5 Model number example Lets review a very common model number: the LSU181HSV. This is an: LG brand - (L) Single (indoor or outdoor system) - (S) Outdoor unit - (U) 18,000 BTU - (181) Heat Pump - (H) Energy Star (S) Inverter compressor (V) Using the proper model number every time you contact LG or use GSFS will make ordering and stock-checking faster and more efficient.

6 1.6 LG model numbers Often times, associates will mistake the sales kit number for the model number. For instance, the picture at the top left shows two nearly identical numbers. One is a sales kit number and the other is the model number, which can lead to confusion. The sales kit model number is LS120HP, which consists of an LS120HPO outdoor unit and an LS120HPI indoor unit. The bottom right picture shows a valid model number. In this example this model is a current generation inverter unit, which only shows the actual LSU181HSV model number-sales kits are no longer shown on inverter units.

7 1.7 To login Now that we understand how to properly identify LG model numbers, let's take this information to the website. To get started type in the url: gsfs-america.lg.com.jsp. If you Google LG GSFS, you will find it as well. Then, enter your login and password and press enter. Each branch should already have their own login and password information. If you do not, please contact LG technical support at , and follow the prompts for Technical Support and then Heating & Air Conditioning.

8 1.8 Enter model number Once you have logged in, you can find parts information by entering the model number including the indoor and outdoor identifier digit. Once you have entered in your model number press enter. Please note that technical service bulletins will also appear on this page. If you would like to see the full list of bulletins, click on the More button. You can also contact tech support for more information.

9 1.9 Parts portal window After entering the model number, a new Parts Portal window will open and will frequently give you more than one unit to choose from, as shown here. Ensure that you select the exact model number from the list that you are searching for. For example, in 2013 certain model numbers will have added numbers attached to them, such as the 2012 LSU121HSV becoming the 2013 LSU121HSV2. These units will have some different parts, so be sure you select the proper one. Generally speaking, choose the bottom one-it will have been the most recent addition. If you see an N under the heading SBOM, do not select that unit-it will not have a parts list.

10 1.10 Inquiry Here we have selected the bottom of the three units from the list on the previous page. Clicking INQUIRY loads the parts list beneath our model number. Next, we'll see how to use the exploded view.

11 1.11 Exploded view Click the drop-down arrow to the right of exploded view and click on the blue box to open up a diagram of the model and its corresponding parts into a new window. If an exploded view is not offered, select a different model from the Model drop-down box at the top left, click Inquiry and try again for the exploded view.

12 1.12 Exploded view If a blank box appears there is no diagram available and you MUST select a different model from the Model drop-down box at the top left, click Inquiry and try again for the exploded view.

13 1.13 Zoom to view product Make sure to maximize the exploded view window or you may not have full functionality. If your unit is turned sideways as this one is, rotate it using the arrows.

14 1.14 Zoom to view parts Use the + or - to zoom in or out in order to better see the details on this diagram. We have zoomed in to better see the part we require. In this case we are looking for the outdoor fan blade.

15 1.15 Interactive Activity 1 (Hotspot, 0 points, unlimited attempts permitted) Feedback when correct: That's right! You selected the correct response. Feedback when incorrect: You did not select the correct response. Hotspot: click on the correct area that will allow you to reveal a list of parts after you have entered in your part number.

16 1.16 Add to order Click the locator bubble by the fan blade and the part number will populate in the boxes on the left. Click Add to Order. This adds this item to the Parts Portal but does not actually create a parts order with LG. Creating the order is a separate process that is explained further into the training. Additional parts can also be selected if required. Click Add to Order for each and then minimize or close the exploded view to get back to Parts Portal.

17 1.17 Add to order If the part has a substitute, it will be shown like this. Occasionally, the part numbers will be identical, as shown here. Parts are occasionally re-named and keep their original number. Double-click the part you want and then click Add to Order. The bottom number will be the newest substitute.

18 1.18 Add to order You can see that the fan blade was entered onto this page when you clicked Add to Order on the exploded view. Click Apply Price/LG Stock to verify LG's inventory and show your pricing. If you are going to transfer the part from within your distribution network, you are done. To order the part from LG, continue.

19 1.19 Model number You can use the parts list section to find substitutes or unit Model Numbers that this part is used in. By clicking where the three arrows point, you can arrange the parts list by part number, part name or locator bubble number. You can then double-click the item you need and it will appear in the top right-hand parts box. This is an excellent cross-reference tool should there be an issue with the exploded view. Here we have double-clicked a thermistor and two substitutes have come up in the top right hand box. You can then double-click one to add it to the pricing box in the middle.

20 1.20 Apply model When parts are in the top right-hand box, you can click Apply Model and a pop-up window will open showing the model numbers that this part number is used in. It may be literally one unit or it may be several.

21 1.21 Order quantity Our substitute thermistor from the previous page has been added to the pricing box. If you need more than 1 of these parts, click under Order Quantity (where the blue box is shown here) and change the quantity where shown.

22 1.22 Apply price/lg stock Click Apply Price/LG Stock again to add up the order. Standard Price is list, Purchase Price is your purchase price. The amount will be the Purchase Price multiplied by your quantity. First LG Stock indicates that this part is in stock at our Toronto location.

23 1.23 Interactive Activity 2 (Hotspot, 0 points, unlimited attempts permitted) Feedback when correct: That's right! You selected the correct response. Feedback when incorrect: You did not select the correct response. Hotspot: click on the correct area that will allow you to change the quantity of the product you are ordering.

24 1.24 Order remark Customer Order Number should be your PO number. Order Remark is any remark you add, such as the customer or job you're ordering for. Ensure your shipping address is correct.

25 1.25 Submit your order Click Submit to place your parts order. All LG Service Parts are shipped overnight freight PAID FOR BY LG. A properly submitted parts order received by LG prior to 4:30PM Toronto time will ship that night. All parts deliveries are via Purolator overnight.

26 1.26 You're done! With this box, you're done! The POM number will appear-write this down-this is your LG Parts Department order confirmation number. If you have missed something, the system will tell you.

27 1.27 Review Click on each marker to review the GSFS system. Model: The Model field will show the model number you previously typed in. Inquiry: The Inquiry button will load the parts list beneath the model number. Substitutes: This box will show all available substitutes. Exploded View: Click on the Exploded View to see a diagram of the product you have selected. Quantity: You can change the quantity by changing Quantity and updating this number to reflect the amount of the product you need. Apply Price/LG Stock: Click Apply Price to verify LG's inventory and check the pricing. Shipping information: Remember, it is very important to input your correct shipping information. Submit: Once you have verified the product, quantity, price, and shipping/billing information you are ready to press SUBMIT. This will activate your order.

You can recognize and find the correct LG model numbers and you have a better understanding of how to login navigate the site. You know now how to look up parts, availability and pricing, and you are familiar with how to place an order.
