2 Robin Thompson Robin Thompson is the Director of Marketing and Business Development (Strategic Alliances) for Forensics Consulting Solutions, LLC (FCS). She began working for attorneys in 1974 and during her career was responsible for managing the discovery phase ofcomplex litigation. She ended the practitioner side of her career in 2003 as one of the departmental managers at Shell in Houston over its litigation information division. Today, Robin has achieved nationwide recognition for her record of success in promoting and planning education for the information management and litigation support community. She is currently Nti National lpresident of the Association of Litigation Support Professionals (ALSP) and on the prestigious advisory board of ACEDS, the certifying body for ediscovery professionals. In her first year as National President of ALSP, through the power of networking, the association has grown from a 18% to 45.5% identification rate making it the undisputed top ranked association among litigation support professionals. Robin has held executive level positions on numerous industry influencing Boards of Directors, and has won numerous awards for her work on those Boards and in the industry including being named as 1 of 6 finalists out of 600 nominees in 2006 for a Stevie Award as the best executive in a service industry under 100 people. Robin frequently speaks on motivational topics and networking for personal and professional success. Robin has been called a master networker, and goes by the moniker SamuraiNetworker in tribute to one of her favorite comedians John Belushi. She has direct contact access to over 14 million people in LinkedIn and her network grows daily by over 32,000 people.

The average age of the user is 38, and the average user is a white collar worker #2 site behind Google Why Facebook? If you are still asking after reading the stats Highest concentration of influencers, cheerleaders and customers in the world Biggest opportunity to create buzz about your product orservice Facebook is the number one business marketing tool for social networkers More businesses have groups, fan pages and company sites Remember If you do not want your personal chatter to be tied to your business page, create two identities Do not link your personal profile to the company site. If you do, remember that everything you post is public domain Keep it light Respond quickly, share relevant links

14 Business Facebook Facts Can Facebook add value to your bottom line or company image? As with any other tool, the value of Facebook depends on how it is used. No doubt, any online platform capable of attracting as many friends or fans to a business as Facebook does has the potential to direct enormous traffic to an online product. And statistics released by Facebook lay claim to this business generating potential. For example, company data presents Facebook as one of the highest trafficked websites in the world, with more than400 million active users overall andmore than 100 million active users on mobile devices. And the average user on Facebook has 130 friends. This average user also spends more than 55 minutes a day on the social network. Fiftyfive minutes a day is a lot of time. If businesses have 55 minutes every day to reach users on a social network that has a total of over 400 million active users, then clearly Facebook as a platform is not to be ignored. To reinforce these statistics, a January 2009 Compete.com study ranked Facebook as the most used social network by worldwide monthly active users, followed by MySpace. Facebook is becoming an increasingly significant way for businesses to reach youth, as noted in an article by Michelle Sullivan on Uwire.com. She coined the phrase the Facebook effect to illustrate the power of the website to enable people to interact and voice their opinions.

15 Using THE Social Network Facebook Spend time with people p you know personal networking. Professional networking sharing what you re doing and posting examples of what you ve done you re creating a Tribe and a group of followers who have similar interests to yours and feel close to you. They like you. Businesses pages and groups where people to learn about the company, follow announcements and find links to the store site for orders. Contribute to your company s page. Be positive, recommend often, share helpful links.
