1 Newsletter In this Issue: Editor s Note Client Focus NBC SMS Competition DMS Survey Solution Dec/Jan 2012 New Appointments New Service Offering Prize Giving Ceremony Editor s Note: The year has begun in full swing for us. We arrived back at the office on the 9 th of January and were excited about being back at work. We kick started the year with a breakfast at the Fresh N Wild Restaurant. Our discussions led us to the conclusion that in 2012 we would be focusing our energies on the Back to Basics concept, DMS will be focusing on our core values which are innovation, passion and integrity. While new business will be flowing in, we re aimed at giving current clients maximum satisfaction in client service. One of the interpretations of the year 2012 is The Year of Governing. This translated means to rule over by right authority. And DMS has certainly earned their stripes and authority in the SMS aggregator sector. We are now applying that same expertise in other fields such as Surveys, which you can read up on, on page 3. We look forward to all that 2012 has in store. -1-
2 Client Focus First and foremost, DMS would like to welcome a new client; Base FM, a community based radio station. Base FM is a professional radio station operating in the Khomas Region with reception stretching from Okahandja to Rehoboth. As one of the oldest radio stations in Namibia, Base FM hosts a number of diverse programmes consisting of its own news and current affairs, sports, community initiatives and entertainment. Recently conducted research places Base FM amongst the stations with the most Facebook fans, which currently is more than 5,500 and still growing. In addition to this, Base FM currently has over 60,000 listeners. Well done to them. 3 DMS Survey Solutions Dynamic Mobile Solutions Survey Solutions Service offering SMS SURVEY is used to conduct consumer research on existing or potential customers. In addition a client can discover the demographics of their customers, for example, age, region, gender and income group. Based on doing research you can define your target audience and cater to their needs better and enhance profits for their business. Consumer research is essential when defining your market or investigating a new one. How it works: The SMS Survey is encompassed by a four step process: 1. Survey Preparation: Objectives of the survey are chosen, and finalised in order to set up research questions and answers into SMS format. 2. Conducting the Survey: SMS es with the selected and approved data is sent out to the participants in the database. DMS will be responsible for the process and collection of the SMS Data. 3. Survey data: Once the feedback SMS data is in collection phase, all SMS data can be viewed on-line in real time. The SMS data is displayed in numerical graphs (bar graphs and percentage figures are supplied), for easy viewing. 4. Survey Findings: The survey Statistics are then collated and the findings are released to the client in a suitable reporting format as agreed by the client upfront. Benefits to the client: When conducting a survey our clients send a clear message, and create the feeling that they have a genuine interest in the satisfaction of their customers, which is the ultimate goal of your marketing strategy. Satisfied customers represent the foundation of a successful and profitable business. With surveys or focus groups, clients get the ability to discover what customers like or dislike so they can better position their services to the actual needs of the marketplace. This process ultimately leads to improved customer satisfaction and retention when the recommendations from a survey or focus group are implemented. Additional benefits are competitive intelligence gathering and customer loyalty. Most institutions have limited access to information that enables them to either plan for the future or to get an indication of their customers needs. DMS uses SMS technologies to give our clients the advantage and insight required. -3-
4 New Appointments: We have a new team member, Ms. Nina Katangana, DMS Team welcomed her as an Account Executive since 1 November 2011, and she is permanently appointed from the 1st February Ms. Nina Katangana comes from a media background with T.V. experience as a News presenter on One Africa and NBC T.V. Perhaps you are already acquainted with her. Further, she has a sales background and will also be the official media liaison officer for DMS. Tana Pesat (Left), DMS Marketing Manager and Nina Katangana (Right), DMS Account Executive New Service Offering: DMS launched Examination Results for Grade 10 and Grade 12 learners on the 22 nd December The Examination Results were launched under the sub-brand MooObile and cost N$ 3.00 per SMS, the most affordable examination result service. Learners had to SMS, either JSC or NSSCH or NSCCO Surname, and Name to to receive their results instantly. An awareness campaign was run across most print media and Fresh FM as a media partner. Four winners were drawn to each receive a cash voucher of N$ , congratulations to: - Janike McLeod - Namasiku Kulimbulula - Anneline Gertze Exam Results and competitionawareness poster - Anthony Cloete -4-
5 Prize Giving Ceremony DMS was an official sponsor of the Prize Giving Ceremony, and had the opportunity to deliver a speech congratulating these recipients and acknowledge the effort and hard work of the National Examination Board and the Ministry of Education. Nina Katangana on behalf of DMS attended the Prize Giving Ceremony hosted by the National Examinations Board of Namibia, with the attendance of His Excellency, Dr Hifikepunye Pohamba, Deputy Minister of Education, Permanent Secretaries, Under Secretaries, Nina Katangana, DMS Account Executive Delivering her speech at the National Examinations Board of Namibia Prize Giving Ceremony Governors, Regional Directors, Principals and Teachers, Members of the Public and Learners. The purpose of the Prize Giving Ceremony was to award the Best Schools in the different regions and best performing students throughout Namibia. -5-
