3 JSC Heavy Engineering ORMETO-YUMZ, established in 1942, is one of the leading heavy engineering enterprises in Russia. JSC Heavy Engineering ORMETO-YUMZ supplies equipment for plants of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, enterprises of mining industry and fuel and energy complex of Russia, the FSU countries, Asia, North Africa, Western and Eastern Europe. JSC Heavy Engineering ORMETO-YUMZ production base comprises the following mainline and auxiliary production units: metallurgical production; welding fabrication; machining and assembly shops; rolls production. Technical control of the production quality is effected by the Quality Control Department. Design documentation is developed by the following design departments: general engineering; hoisting-and-handling equipment; sintering equipment; continuous casting machines; metallurgical machine building; drilling equipment. Computer-aided design facilities: - All design work stations are fitted with personal computers; - Kompas Graphic V11 is used as a basic system for designing; - the program Kompas 3DV11 is applied for 3D modeling; - Designers of electric drive department apply CADdy ET software; - ANSYS software package of finite-element analysis is applied for strength calculations; - The following groupware is used: control system of engineering data and product life cycle Lotsman: PLM; automation system of process design Vertical.

5 PRODUCTION QUALITY CONTROL Quality Control Department Main laboratory Head metrologist department Standartization department Quality management system department 2005 the certificate ISO 9001:2000 was obtained; 2008 receipt of the certificate Det Norske Veritas for production of steel forgings up to 20 tons of carbon and carbon-manganese steel, as well as of alloy steel grades including production of this steel; 2009 award of the license for manufacture of equipment for nuclear facilities and nuclear materials storage facility; 2010 obtaining of the certificate of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping for production of steel forgings for shipboard equipment, mechanisms and mechanical units adoption of a new version ISO 9001:2008; 2010 award of the Lloyd Register Certificate for production of steel forgings weighing up to 15 tons of carbon and carbon-manganese steel and alloy steel. The prime objective of the quality control service is to effect influence on all stages of production manufacture in three directions: quality assurance, quality management and production quality improvement. Quality of products by ORMETO-YUMZ is achieved by ensuring it at all the stages of production manufacture (beginning from the technical documentation development and up to the products sales). Testing base of the plant comprises the following laboratories: metallophysic, mechanical properties testing, chemical analysis laboratory, and metallographic laboratory.

Press shop includes hydraulic presses of force 6000t and 3000t, designed for production of heavy-tonnage forgings;

6 METALLURGICAL PRODUCTION Steelmaking shop contains: electric furnaces: furnace capacity 50 t; 12 t; АКОС (ladle-furnace) of 70 t capacity for melting carbon, alloy and high-alloy steels; vacuum-degassing unit. Electron beam remelting furnace ЭЛП-30. Press shop includes hydraulic presses of force 6000t and 3000t, designed for production of heavy-tonnage forgings; Forge-and-press shop contains hydraulic presses of 800t and 750t force, 3-ton and 1-ton hammers, die-forging hammer 5 t, spring-coiling section.

7 METALLURGICAL PRODUCTION Casting production is carried out at: Mold-steel casting shop, where heavy-tonnage items are produced from steel (up to 45t) and iron (up to30t). The shop has units for making liquid self-hardening mixtures (LSHS) and cool-hardening mixtures (CHS); workshop areas of machine and hand molding. Electric steel-and-iron foundry chop contains two electric furnaces 3 t and 1,5 t capacity; cupola-furnace with fore hearth capacity of 5 t; and non-ferrous casting section with electric furnace of 0,5 t capacity. Light-tonnage cast products are made here of iron, steel and non-ferrous metals; Heat-and-chipping shop, where the treatment of the items after casting is carried out. The shop includes short-blasting chambers, hydraulic chambers for treatment of cast items surfaces and heat-treatment furnaces.

8 WELDING FABRICATION Blanks shop, Machining shop, Assembly-and-welding shop. Following welding methods are used in welded metalwork production: machine welding in carbon dioxide medium and in gas mixture by solid section wires and powder materials, machine flux core welding, manual arc covered electrode welding, manual argon-arc welding with non-consumable electrode, electro-slag welding, resistance spot welding, electric-arc and plasma-arc welding, hard surfacing and antifriction metal surfacing. All accessories for gas-shielded welding and their mixtures is certified by NAKS (National Agency of Non-Destructive Testing and Welding).

9 MECHANICAL ASSEMBLY PRODUCTION Machining and mechanical assembly workshops specialize on the following activities: Machining of different products parts of the entire production range of the plant;; Machining of parts for welding of different items of the entire production range of the plant; Machining of rolls for hot-rolling and cold-rolling mills; Application of anticorrosive coatings, including paint- &-lacquer and galvanic coatings, which is performed at specially equipped sections or in a separate shop.
