8 CASE NARRATIVE Laboratory number: Client: Tetra Tech EMI Project: 103S Location: BAPB Piezometer Waste Characterizatn Request Date: 01/29/15 Samples Received: 01/28/15 This data package contains sample and QC results for two soil samples, requested for the above referenced project on 01/29/15. See attached cooler receipt form for any sample receipt problems or discrepancies. Volatile Organics by GC/MS (EPA 8260B): High response was observed for vinyl acetate in the ICV analyzed 02/02/15 16:58; this analyte was not detected at or above the RL in the associated samples, and affected data was qualified with "b". 1,2,3-trichlorobenzene and 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene were detected between the MDL and the RL in the method blank for batch ; these analytes were not detected in the sample at or above the RL. No other analytical problems were encountered. Metals (EPA 6020 and EPA 7471A): High response was observed for zinc in the CCV analyzed 02/12/15 13:42. Responses exceeding the instrument's linear range were observed for iron and manganese in the MS/MSD of BAPBWC (lab # ). High RPD was observed for zinc in the MS/MSD of BAPBWC (lab # ); the RPD was acceptable in the BS/BSD. Mercury was detected between the MDL and the RL in the method blank for batch ; this analyte was detected in the sample at a level at least 10 times that of the blank. Many analytes were detected between the MDL and the RL in the method blank for batch No other analytical problems were encountered. Moisture (ASTM D2216/CLP): No analytical problems were encountered.
