12 ADVERTISING SUBMISSIONS All print ads must be high resolution (300 dpi). Finished ads submitted to Gazelle Media CANNOT be edited. Pdfs and jpgs are final art with elements locked in place. Any changes must be made before the ad is sent to Gazelle Media. If you wish to have Gazelle Media create your ad, high-res images, vector logos, contact info and copy need to be given to Gazelle Media four weeks prior to the issue date. Four weeks are needed because it takes time to create the ad, present the ad to you for proofing, make your edits to the ad and have you proof the final ad. Due to tight deadlines, only one round of edits will be made, so it is a good idea to know what you d like to have in your ad. Ideally, logos submitted to Gazelle Media should be vector files such as.ai or.eps. These are the file types that print perfectly every time. You should be able to acquire your vector logo from the designer that originally created it. Logos that are jpgs cause multiple problems. The resolution can be too low and will also have a white box surrounding them. In other words, a jpg will be a white rectangle with a pixelated logo in the middle. Never use logos from a website. These will always be low-res and pixelated. High-Resolution Images Every photo in magazines MUST be 300 dpi at 100% actual size. This means you cannot submit a 4 x 6 photo at 300 dpi and expect it to be printed larger as a full spread. What ever size the printed photo is to appear in the magazine, that is the size it must be at 300 dpi. Photos found online are usually not a good idea. Web images are only 72 dpi. If the web is the only resort... Use the search tool and look for images over 4 MB. (see chart below). 11 INCHES PIXELS MB 3.5 x x x x x x x x x x
