1 Position Description: Marketing and Communications Officer FTE 1.0 Reference No: M2015 Classification: Level 4 Employment Type: Line Manager: Contract (12 Months) Chief Operating Officer
2 Position Summary This is an exciting opportunity to join our Marketing team. ersa has a dynamic role available working across a number of different marketing tasks, focusing on leading our market research and analytics capability. Working as a member of the marketing and communications team, the Marketing and Communications Officer is responsible for marketing analytic tracking and reporting activities, social media and content marketing, event and program management. Working under the Marketing Team Leader, this role will support ersa to develop, facilitate and deliver market research, outreach and awareness activities to help develop current and new markets and attract new clients. Key Responsibilities and Outcomes Coordinate and administer marketing analytics and reporting activities with the following: o analysis and tracking of Google analytics, o analysis and tracking of marketing scores, o conducting market research activities such as surveys, etc. o evaluation of programs and activities, o audience segmentation. Coordinate and support ersa events and training programs, including the following: o design events and training program, o program budgeting, o invitation development, o management of the eventbrite system o venue management and coordination, o identify and coordinate presenters, o conference exhibition management (booth set up, booth design, packing and postage), o attendee management. Coordinate content marketing activities including: o research, design and develop written content for marketing and the ersa website. o case studies coordinate with the ersa team to identify appropriate case studies, ability to coordinate with consultants, researchers and photographers as well as interview and writing. o research, design and develop Infographics, o videos scripting, storyboarding, interview coordination, video editing and upload (desirable). Support social media activities, including: o ersa s twitter, Linkedin and Vimeo accounts Provide support to the Marketing Team Leader & Chief Operating Officer including: o Contribute, as directed, to the development of ersa s marketing and communications activities. o Contribute to the development of marketing plans and strategies and market research reports. o Monitor industry trends and competitor landscape and report on these. Manage timely development and review of creative briefs, scopes of work, estimates, etc. Provide support for public relations, press releases, and media relations Other duties as required. 2 Page
3 Capabilities and characteristics Knowledge and experience Bachelor degree in Marketing, Communications or Media or relevant experience and/ or education and training in a relevant area. 2-5 years marketing/communications experience. Experience with analytics and conducting market research Proven ability to manage several projects at once and work well in a fast-paced, deadlinedriven environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. An understanding of content marketing and underlying principles. Demonstrated event management experience. Working knowledge of html and graphic design software. High level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent strategic and critical thinking skills. Achievement drive Ability to multi-task and continually re-prioritize. Ability to work under limited supervision. Self-starter who works independently with initiative and self-managed deadlines. Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Can-do, positive attitude and team orientation. Comfort with creative thinking and problem solving. Service focus Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. Use political astuteness to negotiate and reach agreement on complex issues. Strong customer focus and attention to detail. Exercise tact, tolerance and humour to promote team harmony. Desirable: Some experience working in a science/research environment. A basic understanding of technology concepts such as data management, big data, and cloud computing. Experience in a higher education environment.
