10 International Civil Servants All staff members, by virtue of their appointment with UNDP, are international civil servants. This means that their functional responsibilities are not national, but exclusively international. Oath of Office/Declaration Obligation to accept a reassignment at regular intervals, and to serve in a mix of duty stations over the course of service with UNDP. 10

13 Country Directors As part of the Secretary General s UN reform agenda and with a view to strengthen the RC system, UNDP has initiated the practice of appointing Country Directors (CD) A minimum of 15 years experience in development in a governmental, multilateral or civil society organization. 13
