Edmondson Bell Author of Career GPS: Strategies for Women Navigating the New Corporate Landscape One of the country s most respected experts in women s career advancement and retention, Dr. Ella L. J. Edmondson Bell has taught at Yale, MIT and Dartmouth. Dr. Bell is a founding member of ASCENT: Leading Multicultural Women to the Top the first management and leadership program committed to the professional development and career advancement of women, with a special emphasis on multicultural women. Women who follow Career GPS will have what it takes to gain their professional goals. Dr. Bell offers her guidelines to help women forge their own pathways to professional ascent, providing tips for maximizing a review, networking in a relevant way and much more. This is a timely presentation for women looking to advance up the corporate ladder and optimize their performance in any work environment. morning keynote speaker Gloria Lau Interim CEO of the YWCA USA With 30 years of experience in the nonprofit, finance and business sectors, Gloria Lau will share the relatable and touching stories of the people, events and actions that have shaped her hard-fought path to success. Ms. Lau will stress the need for each woman to recognize the people who have provided them with support and inspiration, and to reflect upon the influences that have guided their own journey. Ms. Lau will share inspirational stories about her parents, who came to this country as illegal immigrants, as well as her friends, colleagues, teachers and family who have encouraged her success through their guidance and support. A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and the Harvard Business School, Ms. Lau was formerly the CEO of Charles Schwab Tokio Marine, and one of the first women to serve as the head of a financial services business in Japan. She has also served in high-ranking positions with financial companies in Latin America and London, as well as Senior Vice President for Global Marketing at Citicorp in New York City.

5 break-out sessions Selena Rezvani Success for the Next Generation of Women Leaders Author and Founder of NextGenWomen, LLC. While the leadership landscape may be shifting, women s presence in leadership positions still lags far behind that of men. In order for women to achieve a greater proportion of executive positions, it s critical for them to be seen as a person of influence within the workplace. This is achieved by becoming attuned to the corporate culture and communicating effectively within it. Selena Rezvani will share high-impact strategies that will help you to boost your confidence and credibility to improve your influence. She will enable you to recognize the behaviors that can propel you forward, as well as those that may be holding you back. She will address how you can ask for what you want and have your ideas embraced, manage pushback from managers and senior management, and know when and how to counter-push. Ms. Rezvani is the author of The Next Generation of Women Leaders: What You Need to Lead but Won t Learn in Business School. She is a recognized speaker and consultant on women and leadership. She is the founder and president of NextGenWomen, LLC., a consulting firm with the goal of propelling more women into leadership positions and helping companies position an inclusive workplace as a competitive advantage. Mary Stutts Success at Work and in Life Author and Founder of MES Concepts, LLC. It s often still a struggle for women trying to have it all to navigate the tenuous balance between their personal ambition, career development, relationships, marriage, home and family. Ideally, women would benefit from the advice, guidance and counsel of other successful women who have faced similar challenges, but this type of mentoring relationship is difficult to find. In fact, 76% of successful women in a recent LinkedIn poll admitted they could not devote the time to being a full-time mentor for other women. Mary Stutts shares her own experiences from her successful 30-year business career in the healthcare and communications industries, and lends advice on how you can increase your confidence, create a life plan, achieve self-awareness, maintain ethical and spiritual well-being, foster personal and professional relationships and define and achieve your own success in life. In 2010, Ms. Stutts was named by Black Health Magazine as one of the 25 Most Influential African Americans in Healthcare.
