This session will review common reasons that strategic marketing planning fails or underperforms, followed by how to work with leadership to challenge existing assumptions and define organizational objectives and build an actionable plan. Most personal conflicts arise from misunderstanding and a rush to judgment. The session will provide a new way to see people without labeling or judging them. Instead it will give an understanding of others strengths and weaknesses. Amazing face reading is a tool that can create win/win situations by knowing instantly when there has been a communication breakdown. This session will help every participant have more effective interactions with every person they meet. 12:00 noon Lunch (Ashley s) 1:00-2:00 p.m. Open Forum Discussion 2:00 p.m. Wrap-Up Attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions and discuss current issues in the healthcare marketing world. There will be an area at registration for individuals to write down questions and submit for the open forum discussion or attendees may wait until the discussion time to verbalize issues for discussion.

3 SPEAKERS Chris Bevolo is a healthcare marketing change agent whose mission is to inspire, persuade and support hospital and health system leaders to transform their approach to healthcare marketing. Chris is a frequent keynote speaker and featured presenter on the topics of marketing, branding, innovation, the patient experience, and consumer trends. He is the author of three books: the just released Joe Public Doesn t Care About Your Hospital, A Marketer s Guide to Measuring Results (2010) and A Marketer s Guide to Brand Strategy (2008), as well as a popular blog and numerous articles and papers. Chris is owner, founder and lead strategist of Interval, an award-winning national healthcare marketing firm, and also offers consulting for healthcare marketing and business leaders. He received a B.S. of Journalism/Mass Communications from Iowa State University and a MBA from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis. Nicole Coy is an experienced marketing strategist for the healthcare industry, leading experience mapping and branding engagements for healthcare systems across the country. Ms. Coy has authored several healthcare articles on topics relating to brand-building, experience management, stakeholder workshops and message mapping. She holds a certificate in Healthcare Marketing Communications and teaches college-level business communication courses. Prior to joining Gelb, she taught courses at Texas State University and worked with a non-profit organization to launch a large grant program. Ann Marks has two master degrees one in theology and the other in counseling psychology and is a qualified therapist. After teaching and counseling for over 20 years, Ann became the first woman Executive Vice President of Challenger, Gray & Christmas in Chicago. After 14 years with Challenger, she left to become an Executive Director for the Young Presidents Organization whose world headquarters is located in Texas. Ann has traveled all over the world both for business and pleasure. Ann became interested in face reading over 15 years ago when she attended a presentation by Mac Fulfer, author of Amazing Face Reading. Ann immediately saw the value of reading her own face and then realized it changed the way she looked at everyone else. She began to use this tool to do better hiring and improve her ability to connect and communicate with others. Ann has continually studied with Mac Fulfer and has co-presented with him on numerous occasions. She is now his business partner and is completely devoted to giving presentations and classes on face reading to groups throughout the United States. John McKeever is the Executive Vice President of Gelb, an Endeavor Management Company, leading its efforts in healthcare marketing. He joined Gelb Consulting in 1998 after spending eight years in the healthcare industry developing and launching new products and now works alongside marketing executives at some of the nation s leading healthcare organizations to support their efforts to use customer insights to guide long-term growth strategies. Mr. McKeever has published and has been interviewed for many articles related to experience mapping, brand management, and marketing research. He has delivered presentations at national conferences on the same. He has also been an adjunct professor of marketing at the University of Houston C. T. Bauer College of Business and taught courses in marketing management and strategic brand management at the graduate level. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY If cancellations are received after August 1, $50 of the registration fee is refundable. Registrants who cancel the day of the program, or fail to attend, must pay the entire fee. Registrants unable to attend may send an alternate. If the alternate is not a member, the non-member registration fee will be required. Registrations that are phoned in, faxed or ed are subject to the same cancellation policy.
