2 2 Job Details Length of Contract: Permanent Job Title: Executive Producer Hours per week: 40 Salary: 30k 34k dependent on experience Responsible to: Artistic Director Responsible for: Kaleider Producers/Project Managers Context Kaleider is a production studio based in Exeter U.K. We bring people together to make extraordinary live experiences, products and services. We make our own work, produce work, commission new work and provide support for artists to develop, push boundaries and take risks with their ideas. We host a number of Resident artists, researchers, scientists, creative technologists and young people. Kaleider Residents are able to use Kaleider as a co-location base to work from. But Residents are not limited to being Exeter based and they make up the core of Kaleider s broader network of people, groups, and businesses with differing backgrounds but with a shared desire to turn and face some of the world s great challenges. Often the work that comes out of Kaleider is playable, and tries to interrupt people in their everyday contexts. Kaleider is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation ( ) and is funded by Exeter City Council. Job Purpose To produce Kaleider, it s productions and any work the company commissions.

3 3 Key responsibilities To support the company s core functions including strategic management and fundraising in collaboration with the leadership team. To provide the strategic and practical management of Kaleider productions, locally, nationally and internationally, including supporting and liaising with partners, artists, producers, technicians and promoters. To develop local, regional, national and international partnerships and collaborative approaches, ensuring they are supported and sustained through thoughtful and considerate open communication. To support the production of work of extraordinary quality and excellence. Main Functions Producing Kaleider Strategy To work closely with the Artistic Director in developing and implementing an ambitious and sustainable company strategy; to work with the leadership team in decision-making which takes account of risk management, company capacity and scope in achieving key strategic goals. Together with the Artistic Director, to act as senior advocate for the company locally, regionally and internationally. Budgets To lead on the management of project budgets, working with the General Manager to allocate, monitor and report on spend efficiently and accurately; to contribute towards increasing company income through effective and entrepreneurial project management. Marketing and press coordination To lead on the coordination of the company s marketing activity and press relations, coordinating the development of campaigns in partnership with the

4 4 Artistic Director and coordinating delivery across the staff team. This is a coordination function rather than a direct delivery function. Partnerships To lead on initiating and maintaining effective partnerships that extend and enrich our work; to take responsibility for ensuring good communication and relationships that build trust and provide mutual value. Fundraising To support the Artistic Director with the development and delivery of an effective fundraising strategy; to seek opportunities for funding; to take responsibility for key bids as appropriate, including monitoring and reporting on successful bids. Producing Kaleider productions Delivering productions nationally and internationally To lead the delivery of all productions, ensuring every aspect of production is considered and delivered to the highest standard by Kaleider; to work with all producing partners, building and sustaining trust in order to oversee the best possible production of Kaleider s work. Developing and delivering commissions nationally and internationally With the Artistic Director to develop and seek national and international producing relationships leading to commissioning of new work; to lead the delivery of all commissioned productions, overseeing all aspects of production through to final user/audience experience. Distributing existing work through selling, touring and siting work both nationally and internationally With the Artistic Director, seek opportunities and new contexts to sell, site and tour existing Kaleider work, building new and lasting relationships with producing partners; coordinate the distribution of work through touring, siting and selling Kaleider productions.

5 5 Producing commissions To seek, establish and develop commissioning partnerships with other producing or commissioning bodies, work with the Artistic Director and partners to develop commission opportunities; work with partners to deliver the production of commissions to the highest possible standard, nurturing relationships and overseeing the production work taking into consideration all aspects of production. Learning and Professional Development All Kaleider employees have a responsibility to ensure they are continually learning. Learning will be supported and given value throughout the postholder s time with Kaleider. Additional training opportunities and/or placements will be sought should they be necessary for the effective learning of the postholder. Assessment of learning throughout the employee s time will be through appraisal with the postholder s line manager.
