They play a significant part in the sports and arts strategies for Milton Keynes and the surrounding region. The irector is responsible for strategic development of services and facilities to ensure access to high quality sport, leisure and arts provision in the school community. Within the context of enabling the delivery of school activities, the post holder will work closely with local partners to secure and sustain investment in facilities, achieve maximum use of the facilities, maximum revenue and maximum engagement in sport and the arts. Location and Working Pattern 37 hours per week, year round Core hours are normal working hours but the post holder is required to work a range of shift patterns with frequent attendance during evenings and weekends when the facilities are open to the public. Occasional unsocial hours for call outs or for late finishing events.

2 thos and Values nvironment and Context To promote and celebrate the work and achievements of the trust To reflect the values of Stantonbury rts & Leisure Trust, including high expectations of customers and staff, a commitment to personal development and continuous improvement To treat all staff and customers with respect and work to ensure that the trust thrives and succeeds Role Summary To continue to establish the SLT as a successful business within Stantonbury Campus and to develop appropriate structures, plans and procedures To provide strong leadership to ensure excellent, cost effective service delivery and ambitious development of facilities To act as ambassador for the company in promoting its work in the local community and in setting/communicating ambitious goals for development To achieve the financial, social and organisational targets set by the Trustees of SLT on behalf of the member(s) To provide strategic and operational oversight of both facilities as well as artistic direction of the Theatre and/or sports and leisure development of the Leisure Centre To lead, manage and organise the Theatre and Leisure Centre on behalf of SLT Principal Responsibilities Leadership and management To provide dynamic leadership and direction for the development of SLT as a new venture; to report regularly to the board To secure investment through entrepreneurial approaches to fund raising, including applications to grant making bodies To ensure that the work, achievement and aspirations of the company are promoted within the campus and wider community To direct the operation of the Theatre and Leisure Centre in line with the values, aims and objectives of SLT whilst remaining sympathetic to the values and objectives of Stantonbury Campus To develop the facilities as a centre of learning, as a community hub and as a resource for the school and the wider community To recruit, lead and manage a team of staff by providing effective direction, management and support including target setting, performance management, professional development and training, the efficient deployment of staff and a motivated team based approach. To show operational leadership of the facilities by taking hands on responsibility for duty shifts, organising events, leading training, key holding, supervising staff etc To develop and maintain management information systems and to work to a suite of agreed Key Performance Indicators for the facility Safe and secure environment

3 Operations To lead, manage and organise the operations of the Theatre and Leisure Centre, ensuring they are carried out efficiently and effectively to deliver support for the school as well as the financial and social objectives set by the board To organise a programme of events and activities designed to support the social and educational objectives of the Campus, to increase participation especially by local people and to cross sell activities and services To ensure that the staff team work efficiently and effectively to an agreed quality management system across all areas of the business including financial regulations, health and safety requirements, operational procedures, emergency plans, event organisation and high levels of customer service at all times To ensure full compliance with all licensing regulations and requirements as the designated Premises Licence holder; to ensure that statutory regulations and best practice guidance are followed, especially with regards to the swimming pool To liaise with internal and external service providers to ensure that their operations meet the needs of the business and comply with regulations To ensure in particular that child protection and safeguarding policies, procedures and practices are models of best practice To ensure adequate provision is made for health and safety, security and maintenance of the building including cleaning schedules To monitor customer satisfaction systematically; to convene regular meetings with user groups and partners; to report back on a regular basis with the aim of improving communication and the quality of the service provided To be responsible for the maintenance and implementation of the organisation s Business Continuity and mergency ction Plans where required Finance, HR, Property & dministration To work to an agreed rolling 3 5 year Business Plan with the aim of achieving at least a break even position financially year on year by maximising throughput, improving revenue performance and controlling costs To review regularly contracts, service agreements, leases, lettings, hire agreements in order to ensure that they continue to meet the business needs of the organisation To take full P&L accountability for the facilities including the production of annual budget plans, pricing proposals and regular monthly financial reports so that targets are set, measured and evaluated at all times. To identify external sources of funding, sponsorship or investment and to prepare applications or bids as appropriate; to appraise income generation opportunities and to implement them if agreed To compile an asset management plan, ensuring that essential planned and proactive maintenance is carried out and that capital improvements are funded and programmed To ensure that financial management and HR management policies and procedures are strictly followed in order to protect the business and the staff evelopment To lead the development and implementation of the organisation s corporate strategic and service plans, policies and procedures

4 To represent and promote the organisation within the Campus and externally, in order to develop the facility as a significant strategic resource for the arts, sports, leisure, entertainment and education To liaise with local, regional and national agencies to develop the facility and its services as a relevant, viable and sustainable enterprise stablish, implement and deliver an agreed marketing and communications strategy in order to raise the profile of the facility, maximise use and increase revenue To work pro actively with local clubs, companies, agencies and partners to place SLT at the heart of the local community; to maintain professional networks locally, regionally and nationally; to keep abreast of initiatives and developments in relevant and related fields ny other duties appropriate to the post: these other duties must be equivalent to or below the salary and status of the role and, where appropriate under the quality ct 2010, due consideration must be given to any employees with a protected characteristic General ccountabilities So far as is reasonably practicable, the post hold must: nsure that safe working practices are adopted by employees in order to maintain a safe working environment for employees and service users.
