2 ADVERT TEXT SYSTEMS TEST ANALYST (FULL TIME PERMANENT) Based within our IS team and reporting directly to the Projects Manager, you will be responsible for: The planning and execution of functional and acceptance testing of our award-winning Website, our Maginus ERP system, and a range of software products used to run our business operationally. Working collaboratively with our business stakeholders and development team, you will be a key player in the successful ongoing delivery of our Digital Strategy and Systems Transformation projects. Candidates must have: Experience in documenting test plans, scripts and feedback for developers A strong knowledge of software testing in a technical department Experience of automated testing tools Experience of website testing, including API Knowledge of online retail operations and PCI compliance Good prioritisation and planning skills Strong numeracy skills
3 THE WINE SOCIETY JOB DESCRIPTION Job title: Systems Test Analyst Department: Information Systems Reports to: Projects Manager Responsible for: (Number of direct reports if any) N/A Job purpose: Good systems testing is key to maintaining the quality of our award-winning website and the effectiveness of our operational systems here at The Wine Society. Maginus ERP is our core system for mainstream operations, with unique and complex processes being supported by a broad range of bespoke systems. Our Systems Test Analysts perform a vital role in our Information Systems team and our business, planning and executing functional acceptance testing and working collaboratively with developers and business stakeholders to deliver our Digital Strategy and Systems Transformation programmes. Our test team experiences a continuous flow of exciting new developments, devising and planning manual tests - smoke tests, full functional tests and regression tests. As a member of our test team you will be involved in all aspects of testing and the continuous improvement of our test strategy. You will also bring the necessary skills and knowledge to introduce automation for the testing of our website. Main duties: Work in collaboration with other test analysts and systems stakeholders to deliver our Digital Strategy and Systems Transformation programmes. Test new Digital developments on our customer-facing website and apps. Beta test new version releases and enhancements of our core Maginus ERP system and other software used in the operational running of our business. Capture and define test requirements from functional specification, requirements specification or Developer brief. Produce test plans and repeatable scripts, scaled appropriately to the task, with clear estimates for functional, data integration (API) and regression testing.
4 Configure the test environment to support development and test execution scenarios. Provide clear issue feedback with expected v/s actual result, steps to recreate, impact and severity assessment, and recommended solutions. Introduce automation technologies and frameworks for testing our website on supported browsers and devices Make recommendations for the continuous improvement of our test strategy, introducing efficiencies through automation technologies and frameworks. Deliver change and process improvement through effective communication, taking a proactive approach in meetings and providing documentation and walkthrough sessions where required. Provide second line support and knowledge-sharing for software issues escalated from our Servicedesk. Support best practice and best use of systems.
