An increasing number of Canadian communities are using events and sport hosting as a community economic development initiative because sporting events are proven to attract new visitors and enhance awareness of the destinations. Quick Facts about SEC The most popular element of the Congress is Sport Events Exchange, a business-to-business marketplace similar to speed dating. 2/3 of delegates are repeat attendees having attended five or more previous events. The remaining 1/3 of delegates are first-timers. Ottawa has hosted Sport Events Congress eight times and will also host again in is the first time SEC will be held on the east coast. Average spend per person at SEC 2016 (Ottawa) = $312. Economic impact as measured by CSTA s STEAM Model = $1.07 million of total economic activity (SEC 2016 Ottawa) 3

It s a natural spot for delegates to congregate, share ideas and meet up in-between sessions and presentations. Extras: Additional items that exhibitors may want to add to their space are extra, including power, internet, furniture rentals and décor. 7 Sponsorship Opportunities CONGRESS PRESENTING SPONSOR $12,000 per year or $20,000 for SEC 2018 (Halifax) & 2019 (Ottawa) One position available LUNCHEON OR BREAKFAST SPONSOR $6,000 (2018 only) or $11,000 (2018 & 2019) All eyes will be on you as a luncheon or breakfast sponsor! Each Congress meal will feature a keynote speaker or presentation and sponsors will have a highly visible presence during the meal, including the opportunity to conduct an activation targeted to attendees (i.e. gifting, video presentation, prize draw, etc.). Meal sessions are plenary sessions and have a high attendance rate offering maximum visibility to sponsors. 8 Sponsorship Opportunities SPORT EVENTS EXCHANGE TITLE SPONSOR $5,000 (2018) or $9,000 (2018 & 2019) Sport Events Exchange (aka speed dating) is a 1 to 1 ½ day business-to-business marketplace which takes place during Sport Events Congress. It provides an opportunity for events rights holders and destinations to meet one-on-one to explore sport event hosting opportunities. Participants are assigned brief appointments to conduct a short business meeting in an attempt to match events with host cities. The sponsor of Sport Events Exchange will be associated with the Congress marquee event! CONCURRENT SESSION SPONSOR 2 sessions for $3500 (2018) or $6,000 (2018 & 2019) Six positions available SEC sessions and workshops, featuring a variety of industry topics and themes (see event schedule), run concurrently over 2-3 days. Session sponsors are identified at the start of and conclusion of sessions and in the event program and a brief speaking opportunity is available to the sponsor representative. This sponsorship package is the BEST value given the complimentary delegate fee included, speaking opportunity, plus the visibility provided! These awards are presented annually in seven (7) categories to individuals, companies and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the success of the sport tourism industry. The awards are presented at a luncheon that takes place in conjunction with Sport Events Congress. The PRESTIGE Awards attract SEC delegates + friends and family of award finalists making it the event with the biggest draw at SEC. 12 Sponsorship Opportunities Optional Add-Ons ADDITIONAL CONGRESS REGISTRATIONS $600 (maximum 2) Corporate partners who have purchased any sponsorship package, trade show package or advertising offered by CSTA at Sport Events Congress can secure additional delegate registrations at a discount in order to have additional company representation at the Congress. These additional Congress registrations must be purchased at the time of confirmation of the package. This special rate cannot be offered after the fact. If you decide at a later date to have extra company representatives in attendance, they will be required to register on-line as a delegate and pay the current Congress registration rates. SINGLE OR DOUBLE EXHIBITOR BOOTH $1500 (single) or $2500 (double) If your chosen package doesn t include trade show space in Vendor Alley, you can add it on at a discounted rate. The add-on fee includes the kiosk space only (no delegate registrations are included). Title or presenting status of an SEC activity or session includes mention of your company on the SEC website and in the event survival guide and on any conference-related materials where the sponsored session/activity is referenced (i.e. Sport Events Congress 2018 presented by Destination XYZ or Sport Events Exchange presented by Company ABC). 2. 16 THE FINE PRINT Confirmation of Participation as a Sponsor or Exhibitor or Advertiser Sponsors, advertisers and exhibitors may submit a confirmation form to request participation as a sponsor, advertiser or exhibitor by selecting a package, completing the confirmation form and submitting it to the CSTA for approval/acceptance. A limited number of spaces are available each year and are allocated to corporate partners on a first come, first served basis. Returning sponsors have priority and have first choice of the options available. Sponsors from previous years do not automatically have their same position reserved from one year to the next unless they have opted into a 2-year agreement with the CSTA (see details below). Sponsorship Fees & Benefits Sponsorship fees and the benefits/features associated with each package are subject to change from year to year and are outlined in this document which is updated annually. Sponsors who commit to participate for two consecutive events (i.e. SEC 2018 and 2019) will have their preferred sponsorship position reserved for two years and will save on sponsorship fees (a staggered payment plan over 2 years is offered). There are no refunds or credits for any sponsorship packages not utilized in year 2. Sponsorship and exhibitor fees are invoiced and payable by cheque or credit card at least one month in advance of the Congress. Failure to pay fees in accordance with CSTA s payment policy may result in a sponsorship position or booth space being reassigned. Official Activities & Unauthorized Events Only those who are supporting Sport Events Congress through the payment of registration fees or sponsorship fees are permitted to conduct business at the event or at official SEC functions. The generosity and support of sponsors/partners of official Sport Events Congress functions shall not be abused. Persons not affiliated with SEC or the CSTA will not be permitted to attend any hospitality events or any other activity. Furthermore, any events or activities conducted at the Congress venue or off-site are not permitted to be staged during the hours in which an official Sport Events Congress activity is scheduled. Please consult the official Schedule of Events. Organizations violating this rule may be suspended from participating in future events.
