ABOUT LIONS EYE INSTITUTE FOR TRANSPLANT AND RESEARCH The Lions Eye Institute for Transplant and Research (LEITR) is one of the largest eye banks in the world, honoring each donor and donor family by passing on the gift of sight to recipients around the world. OUR MISSION To improve visual outcomes and quality of life for those who are blind or visually impaired through innovative ocular endeavors. HOW LEITR ASSISTS THE COMMUNITY The 8th Annual Eye Ball to be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at TPepin s Hospitality Centre in Tampa at 7:00 pm. WHAT IS THE EYE BALL? The Eye Ball brings together ophthalmic specialists and surgeons, business and community leaders, and loyal friends to foster the sight-saving and life-enhancing work of the Lions Eye Institute for Transplant & Research. Other exciting features: Gourmet dining by Puff n Stuff, one of Tampa s most well-known caterers Entertaining evening with gaming and dancing, featuring a local Cuban band One of a kind treasures in the Live and Silent Auctions Inspiring stories that celebrate the Gift of Sight MORE EVENT INFORMATION We hold annual events for the blind and visually challenged, including: DONATIONS PROVIDED The Institute provided over 1,000 corneas for domestic and international use to the blind or visually impaired.
