2 June 2012 in comparison to the previous year 1 Current overview of hotel performance for selected destinations in Germany: Berlin: Occ: 81 %, ADR: 98, RevPar: 79 June was a very strong month for the capital of Germany, with RevPar increasing by around 21%. Important drivers: The holding of the EULAR Congress and the Capital City Congress, as well as a much stronger business sector. Dresden: Occ: 69 %, ADR: 74, RevPar: 51 Declines in all performance areas, with a much weaker RevPar (down 19%) compared to last year. Reasons: the absence of the German Protestant Kirchentag convention, as well as the cold, wet and changeable weather. Dusseldorf: Occ: 65 %, ADR: 96, RevPar: 63 There was a 3% decline in RevPar in June (Occ: up 14%, ADR: down 15%). Reason: the absence of the Gifa-Metec, the international trade fair for metallurgy, steel castings and steel production, held every 4 years (last time from 28 June to 2 July 2011). Frankfurt : Occ: 71 % ADR: 122, RevPar: 87 June was much better on a year-on-year basis, with RevPar up by 37%, due to improved ADR (+27). 3 Hamburg: Occ: 79 %, ADR: 116, RevPar: 92 A 4% decline in RevPar, mainly due to the unfavourable weather conditions this year. Other reasons: there were more congresses (8 days more) in June last year, which contributed to more MICE business, as well as the changed holiday situation this year. Cologne/Bonn: 69 %, ADR: 94, RevPar: 65 Development in June was very positive, with RevPar up 13%, driven by a stronger ADR (+8%) than last year. Drivers: The holding of the ANGA Cable and PowerGen trade fairs simultaneously (12 to 14 June 2012) and the later date of the Whitsun holidays. Leipzig: Occ: 78 %, ADR: 83, RevPar: 65 June 2012 in Leipzig was better than in 2011, with a rise of 5% in RevPar, caused by the positive occupancy (Occ up 4%). Possible reasons for this: the AMI (a trade show held every other year) and the Cyto Congress from 23 to 27 June Besides this, a number of hoteliers have been able to confirm higher demand than last year from events such as the Bach Festival, and the SMART and Saxony beach volleyball tours. Munich: Occ: 78 %, ADR: 132, RevPar: 103 June was also consistently positive in the Bavarian metropolis, with an increase in RevPar of 22% over last year s figure, predominantly driven by higher ADR and occupancy. Reasons: a stronger Intersolar trade event, as well as the arrival of the first Arab guests. Page 3
