2 Introduction This document contains information related to the release of Retail Pro , released April 1, Release Files To access the files in this release, extract the files contained in the following.zip file: Core zip Stop V8 License Server before Installing MP Be sure to stop the V8 license server before applying the maintenance pack. the V8 license server, the maintenance pack will not be able to overwrite the licenseserver.exe file when you apply the MP. To stop the license server, launch V8licensemanager.exe and log in. Select Retail Pro V8 License Service, and then click the Stop button. The license server is automatically restarted as part of the maintenance pack s Addressed Retail Pro 8.70 Total: 2 EFT - Cayan Subtotal: Partial auth debit transactions are updating in RPRO for the full amount Some debit card transactions are being categorized as credit in RPRO8 using latest EMV build of Cayan Retail Pro now correctly recognizes when a Partial Debit transaction response is sent back by Cayan. Important! If not upgrading, you should remove the Debit Card button from the Tender screen UI, as described in the note below the issue list. In some situations, certain EMV Debit transactions are interpreted by Retail Pro as Credit card transactions, causing confusion during reconciliation. This has been corrected. 2
3 If Not Upgrading, Remove Debit Card from Tender Screen If you choose not to upgrade, you are advised to remove the Debit Card button (via Menu Designer) from the tender screen and instead use the Credit button for both credit and debit (via the CED). Steps Instructions Screen Elements 1. Navigate to the Receipts > Form View > Tender Screen. Right-click in the side menu and select the Menu Designer. 2. Find the list of the buttons currently display in the UI (right side of Menu Designer screen). Select the Debit Card button. If there is a check mark next to Debit Card, click the listing to remove the check mark. Only buttons with a check mark next to the Debit Card listing in Menu Designer will display in the UI. 3. Click OK to save the changes. 3
4 s (092815) Retail Pro Release Notes EFT - Cayan Subtotal: Unable to complete a return with Auth and Settle enabled. Getting Error in settling for Auth and Settle during update of receipt Error message after editing users Cayan/MW has been updated to not send a Post Auth transaction after a Credit Card return when in Auth & Settle mode. Password changes will be read without having to restart Retail Pro. The user does have to log out and log back in to make any password/permission changes active. 4
5 18152 Implement EMV, EMV receipt fields, EMV Saved fields, EMV 'Declined' receipt fields, certify EMV. Retail Pro is certified for EMV transactions (debit or credit). EMV info is saved in SAxxxx.emv in \Retail\Rpro, where xxxx corresponds to the SAxxx.dat file. EMV fields should be added to the receipt design. All required EMV fields are available in Debit and Credit section. In receipt design, add (at the least) EMVAid, EMVAppLabel, EMVCardExpDate and EMVPINStatement fields to both the Credit and the Debit section. If populated in the response, they will print required info and won't print the 'must not print' info. EMV Declined Transactions. Merchant should create a receipt design specifically for declined EMV transactions. Besides possible Header and Totals section (if desired on a Declined receipt), create a Tender section with the Debit AND Credit section, as EMV could possibly come back as a Debit OR Credit transaction. To each of the two Tender sections, add (at the least) the following EMV fields in the design from their respective fields: - EmvAid - EmvAppLabel - EmvCardExpiryDate - EmvPINStatement There is no specific 'EMV Decline' type of Receipt; therefore, whenever there is an EMV Decline, an error dialog will come up in the Tender screen. Click 'OK' in the dialog. Then, you can choose the 'EMV Declined' design you created and print the decline receipt (if desired). 5
6 18126 Cayan: Correctly show pre-auth credit cards rtieftmwcredit.dll rtieftmwdebit.dll rtieftmwgift.dll When using the 'Pre-auth and Settle' option in Retail Pro to authorize Credit Cards, Retail Pro will show a different status in the Tender screen for each Credit Card tender in the tender screen, depending on whether a tender has been approved via the pre-auth ('pre-auth' no. shown in tender), or has received post-auth approval (;auth" + no shown in Tender). This is useful in determining which transaction was affected, if something happened during post-auth, and one or more Credit transactions did not receive Post-auth approval. That tender would have to be removed and re-tried, or another means of payment would have to be used Current Cayan (Genius) interface code changed so that discount, fee, and ship do not display Retail Pro now displays document-level Discounts, Fees and Shipping charges on the Genius device when using Line Display functionality. 6
7 18116 Implement Cayan L (Line Display) solution ssleay32.dll libeay32.dll rtieftmwcredit.dll rtieftmwdebit.dll rtieftmwgift.dll Line Item Display (L) has been implemented and certified according to Cayan's guidelines. This includes the Swipe Ahead functionality. To enable L functionality, Set up WS Preferences > EFT with your Cayan account information, configure, WS Preferences > EFT, 'Genius IP' with the IP-address of your Genius device. Also, in WS Preferences > Peripherals, in 'Shopper Display Settings', select the 'Verifone Mx-915 Genius' as 'Shopper Display Type', and in the setting for 'POS Line Item Display', choose which Description field to display. Only Desc 1-4 are valid choices. Part of the Line Item display functionality is 'Swipe ahead'/'swipe Anytime', which means that IF Line Display functionality has been configured, the 'track light' on the Genius device will start to light up the moment the first item has been listed, enabling the customer to swipe his/her card, without having to wait until the cashier is going to tender the transaction. When the cashier does click on the tender button and clicks 'OK' or 'Authorize', the customer will only be asked to OK the amount of the transaction. This will only be functional if the transaction is sent to the Genius device, not if the Genius device is bypassed with Manual entry of if an encrypted swipe is used. EFT Shift4 Subtotal: Debit cards not masked in V8 following authorization using Shift4 If the Merchant is set up for Debit and is using pin pads without a built-in card reader (e.g. a Verifone 1000SE) and an external card reader is used, Retail Pro 8.70 will correctly truncate the first 12 digits and only show/store the last 4 digits of the card. 7
