1 POS Guide POS Connection: 7604/7608 NVR and 7200 DVR support TCP connection, via Generic protocol. 7616/7700 NVR support TCP connection via Generic protocol and RS232 serial port using AVE standard. 1. DVR/NVR POS Configuration: Menu > Configuration > POS Enable: check it to enable POS POS Name: set a name for POS Connection: choose POS connection between NVR/DVR and POS. TCP Receive or RS232. Note: 7604/7608 NVR and 7200 DVR don t support RS232. TCP Receive Setting Please click Set to change TCP Receive Port. DVR/NVR connects POS as a client, and transmits data through certain port.

2 RS232 Setting Please click Set to change RS232 settings. Ensure that Baud Rate, Data Bit, Stop Bit, Parity and Flow Ctrl are same as the settings on POS. Change Usage to Transparent Channel while NVR is using RS232. Note: The default setting of the Usage is Console, the system will request a restart when the setting under Console have been changed. POS Protocol: During the setting of the POS connection Protocol, the Generic and AVE will be available to choose when the connection type is in RS232.

3 General POS Settings The general setting can be change by clicking Set next to the POS Protocol. The Start Line Identifier, End Line Identifier, Line Delimiter, Case Sensitive and TimeOut(s) can be change in the pop up screen. Note: Select Hex and the convert hexadecimal characters will be active. Note: When Start Line Identifier is empty, meaning the system will become superimpose once there are characters being send from the POS terminal. When End Line Identifier is empty, meaning there is endless command, and the POS will keep recording. Note: TimeOut is the time out period of the POS network connection. The POS will keep connected during this time out period.

4 It is able to change the Extra Line(s) and Ignore Line by clicking More Setting under POS Setting. Note: Extra Line(s) meaning the system is still able to superimpose 0 to 10 lines after the End Line Identifier is active. Ignore Line supports up to 4 lines. AVE POS Settings By clicking the Set next to the POS Protocol, and the Protocol and the TimeOut(s) of the Protocol can be change. Note: In the selection of Protocol, the VSI-ADD and Vnet are available to select.

5 Note: Address is the corresponding AVE master address of the POS terminal s AVE protocol. Handle: By clicking to set POS to active the linkage mode.

6 Note: PTZ Linking only can be set when the corresponding channel is connected to a PTZ device. 2. DVR/NVR POS preview. At the preview interface of the POS linked channel which is already setup, click the Test Show icon then the POS preview will be available. Note: The POS preview will be available when and only when the shown channel is on full screen mode. 3. DVR/NVR POS record setting. Instruction: Menu > Record > Schedule Set POS recording schedule,check the box next to Enable Schedule and apply the setting then the POS recording will be active.

DVR/NVR POS video playback Instruction: Menu > Playback > POS Set the playback mode to POS,choose the channel, matching condition of playback and the start-end time to search the recorded POS vide, enable the testin on to play back POS video. Note: The default setting of Textin on is disabled. Note: Enable Textin on also can playback POS recorded file when the playback mode is under Normal. Note: The POS recorded files only can play when the system is on full screen mode.

8 Note: Under Match, Exact match or Approximate match are available to choose. The corresponding recorded files can be found by typing the POS character under Approximate match. The recorded files can be search by adding the exact term/requirement under Exact match, the Logic need to be specified to determine the conditions of the playback. The search requirement can be set under Column ; but the actual number is in the next line, so 1 is needed to put on the Line section.

9 5. DVR/NVR POS File Export Instruction: Menu > Export > POS Selection the channel, Start-end time and search condition to search the files for POS, the corresponding will show up and available to export.
