1 Polymer Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors Association The PMMDA was originally formed in The eight founder companies set out to agree a range of standards for both UK manufacturers and distributors of foreign machinery. Since then the Association has become a well known brand representing quality service, technical competence and reliable support. 7 International Services Overseas Exhibitions The PPMA organises group stands at key international exhibitions relevant to all PPMA members and will secure a good location within the exhibition hall and take the stress out of overseas exhibiting for members. Association s own established office in China No region has had more impact upon the world s economy over the last 10 years than China. The PPMA Group has an established office in Shanghai - the heart of the Chinese economic power house. Already home to several PPMA Group members, the office is forecast to grow significantly. 8 Lobbying and Engagement with Government Regulators A Voice for the Industry in Whitehall Any good Trade Association has a fundamental obligation to represent its members in the corridors of government power and the PMMDA and the PPMA actively works to achieve this. The current CEO has two years direct experience working in the UK Cabinet Office on reducing the burden of regulation on British industry. Regular meetings are secured with Ministers and their senior decision makers providing members with an opportunity to influence the future course of legislation. Approved Accredited Trade Organisation (ATO) and Close Relations with UKTI With increasing globalisation more import and export activities within the Processing & Packaging industry are being developed. The PPMA Group is an approved Accredited Trade Organisation (ATO) under the UK Government Scheme, which enables us to obtain grants for overseas exhibitions and missions. We also host regular inward and outward missions in support of our members strategy in several overseas locations.
