3 Company showcase opportunities As host to the British Business Embassy, Lancaster House also offers a number of opportunities to physically showcase innovative technologies relevant to the sector. UKTI is looking to the advanced engineering and manufacturing sector to secure a range of leading edge innovative technologies to wow the overseas guests. Guests will be able to view the display areas during the Summit, providing a showcase platform for leading edge company products. There are a limited number of display areas available and therefore we ask that all display requests and applications are submitted to Roisin McClory at roisin.mcclory@ukti.gsi.gov.uk by Monday 26 March 2012 for consideration. Delegate recruitment INTERNATIONAL: International recruitment is currently a major focus and we are being supported by a range of stakeholders to help confirm overseas guests attendance at the event, for which we are hugely grateful. UK: UK recruitment for the Summit is currently being progressed and a number of you will have received requests to help with this and, again, thanks for your help. The expectation is that invitations will be issued in early April. Hosting companies Given that we will have a range of senior representatives from major overseas companies in the country for the Summit, we are looking at opportunities for companies or stakeholders to host these delegates. It is likely that many of the delegates will be in the UK the day before our Summit so we are keen to hear from anyone interested in developing an attractive offer around this opportunity. Regional/international events The Olympic programme and our sector summit offers an unparalleled opportunity to showcase Advanced Engineering excellence, not just in London but around the country and overseas. UKTI teams in the English regions, the Devolved Administrations and colleagues overseas are considering what they might do to capitalise on the increased interest. We would be delighted to hear of any ideas or plans you may have as we will all benefit from taking a co-ordinated approach. We will use future communications to update on associated planning. Sponsorship opportunities A suite of sponsorship opportunities will soon be on offer for the Summit Reception and will be categorised into the following tiers: Headline Sponsor Gold Sponsor (maximum 4 places) Silver Sponsor (maximum 50 places) The Silver Sponsor package has been developed with consideration to SMEs and their benefit requirements. Silver Sponsors will be offered the opportunity to attend the

4 reception and have their logo displayed on the sponsor s board. Places are being offered on a strictly limited, first come first serve basis. With the world s focus on the games we wanted to demonstrate the UK s innovation and creativity in advanced engineering and showcase our expertise in a way that would surprise and capture interest. The digital showcase has been designed to provide a case study platform highlighting UK company products and technologies that play a significant part in sporting, venue and infrastructure applications in association with London 2012 and further afield. From April the digital showcase will be available to view online at It has been created as an interactive tool to be used at events and promotionally pre, during and post London It can be viewed on large screens with a touch-screen option and has the facility to be flexible allowing additional case studies to be added on an ongoing basis. The digital showcase will available for you to use and include in your promotional activities and further details of access will be given in our next communications update. Press tour As part of the Advanced Engineering team s Sector Day and to influence and communicate with key opinion makers in the international business and trade media, UKTI has organised a Press Tour with international journalists from our key markets covering China, India, Russia, Japan and Brazil. The aim is to run a programme across the UK visiting companies and centres that possess world-class advanced engineering capability as well as visits to some key Olympic locations. The Tour will take place from March and includes visits to the Olympic Park, Surrey Satellites, GKN Aerospace, Airbus UK, Jaguar Land Rover, McLaren and Rolls- Royce as well as a number of SMEs with highly innovative products.
