1 Bill No. 1 : PRELIMINARIES 1.01 CONTRACT: Allow for complying with obligations and liabilities in, or implied by the contract documents and for all necessary temporary and ancillary works. Mobilisation and demobilisation of all necessary plant. Provide all necessary insurance as required by the conditions of contract. Provide for the co-ordination and execution of the total works for the work of sub-contractors appointed by Contractor. Provision of competent supervision during the duration of the works SPECIFICATIONS: Allow for all necessary instruments, materials and testing, contained or implied by the specifications Allow for the supply of samples and materials for testing. Retain approved samples in good, clean condition on site for comparison with product used in the Works. Before starting work, allow for examining all available information, allow for carrying out all surveys, setting out of works, agreeing levels including the provision and erecting permanent setting out marks of the quantity and quality as required by the Architect. Submit a survey report and method statements to the Architect covering all relevant matters listed below The form, condition and demolition methods of the structure(s). The form, location and removal methods of any toxic or hazardous materials. The type and location of adjoining or surrounding premises which may be adversely affected by noise, vibration, dust or removal of structure. The identification and location of services above and below ground HEALTH & SAFETY: Allow for protecting at all times the whole of the works, including providing screens, fans, planked footways, guardrails, warning lights and similar items as required and as deemed necessary at all times by the Architect Ensure that means of escape from the property in the event of fire are maintained for the duration of the Works. Take adequate precautions to protect site operatives and the general public from health hazards associated with dangerous fumes and dust arising during the course of the Works. Allow for complying with Health & Safety regulations. Allow for services rendered by Consultant Health & Safety Officer SECURITY: Adequately safeguard the site, the Works, materials arising, products, plant, and any existing buildings affected by the Works from damage and theft. Take all reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorised access to the site, the Works and adjoining property MAINTENANCE: Allow for continuously keeping the site clean and in a workmanlike condition free from debris, surplus materials and any other type of loose matter, which will disturb the proper conditions of any roads or adjoining structures. Reduce dust by periodically spraying demolition works with water. Page 1 of 15
2 Adequately maintain roads and footpaths within and adjacent to the site and keep clear of mud, debris and obstructions. Any damage to roads and footpaths caused by site traffic or otherwise consequent upon the Works must be made good to the satisfaction of the Local Authority or other owner. Bear any costs arising. C/F - Bill No. 1 : Preliminaries Cont'd B/F - Allow for sweeping and cleaning / washing of all access roads pertaining to the Site of works at times deemed appropriate to keep the roads clean and dust free at all time FIRE: Take all necessary precautions to prevent personal injury, death, and damage to the Works or other property from fire EXISTING SERVICES: Notify all service authorities and/or adjacent owners of the proposed works not less than one week before commencing site operations. Observe service authority's recommendations for work adjacent to existing services. Adequately protect and prevent damage to all services. Do not interfere with their operation without consent of the service authorities or other owners. Replace any marker tapes or protective covers disturbed during site operations to the service authority's recommendations. Allow for providing, maintaining and removing all necessary temporary services, including fresh water, compressed air, electrical supplies, telephone, etc. Disconnection and removal of existing mechanical and electrical systems and cart-away off-site, including water-tanks, pipes, airconditioning units, etc. Allow for the supply and consumption of water and electricity required for the works GENERAL: Allow sum to carry-out modifications to site as necessary to allow plant and equipment access into the site and making-good to original state on completion. Allow for the provision of site office accommodation. Allow for site-storage as required by the works.
