Contractor shall obtain all Utility locations prior to any excavation. Contractor shall provide all necessary MOT Devices per City Standards. Contractor shall supply all dewatering equipment as required for a safe work environment. Contractor shall provide all equipment necessary to comply with Trench Safety Standards. Fire Hydrant and Service locations will be prioritized and identified by Adam Rivera Wastewater Collections Supervisor. Quantities of installations shall be determined by priority and available funding. SCOPE OF WORK: PART 1 FIRE HYDRANT INSTALLATION: HOT TAP W/VALVE ON 8 HDPE PIPE, HYDRANT ASSEMBLY. ITEMS 1-1 THRU 1-4 Contractor shall provide all materials, fittings, and labor to install the Fire Hydrant assembly per City Standards. Tapping Sleeves shall be Stainless Steel Power Seal 3490MJ-AS or TPS Triple Tap Model MJSF. Tapping Saddle pressure test and Tap shall be performed by contractor and witnessed by City Staff. Valve shall be RS MJ with 2 Operator Nut (pipe, valve box, & cover as required). Piping from valve to Fire Hydrant shall be PVC C-900 (DR18, or DR14 under pavement). Fittings shall be MJ with Reclaimed Water Fire Hydrant & Services Installation Costs Page 3
4 Restraint Glands, directional transition bends shall not exceed 45 degree bends unless approved by City due to space limitations. Fire Hydrants shall be installed per City Details, centered on property line, unless otherwise directed/approved by City Supervisor. Tracer wire shall be run from center of main to Fire Hydrant, centered on top of pipe. Contractor shall repair any sprinkler systems damaged during project. Restoration shall include sod replacement. Any curbing, sidewalk, road base, and/or asphalt restoration shall be covered under Part 11; quantities to be reviewed and approved by City Supervisor.
