Dormay Street & King George s Park Community Liaison Working Group 12 October 2017
DORMAY STREET
Dormay Street Overview This site will be used to connect the existing local combined sewer overflow to the main tunnel. It is also used to drive a connection tunnel southwards to King George s Park and northwards to Carnwath Road Riverside.
Dormay Street Overview The Problem: At this location, in a typical year, there would be 32 discharges of untreated sewage with a volume of around 18,000 tonnes into the tidal River Thames. The Solution: Our Dormay Street site will control the discharges from Frogmore Storm Relief and Bell Lane Creek combined sewer overflow. When the tunnel is in operation it is expected that only one discharge will occur.

FROGMORE CONNECTION TUNNEL
Frogmore Connection Tunnel - Location
Frogmore Connection Tunnel The Frogmore connection tunnel will be used to connect the existing Frogmore Storm Relief Buckhold Road combined sewer overflow to the main tunnel at our Carnwath Road Riverside worksite. The Frogmore Connection Tunnel will be 1,100m in length from King George s Park to Carnwath Road Riverside Dormay Street to King George s Park: 500m Dormay Street to Carnwath Road Riverside: 600m Average Tunnel Depth: 20m Tunnel internal diameter: 2.6m wide
Frogmore Connection Tunnel Timeline
QUESTIONS?
KING GEORGE S PARK
King George s Park Overview The King George s Park site encompasses a part of the northern end of King George s Park adjacent to the entrance from Buckhold Road. The site will be used to connect to the main tunnel via the Frogmore connection tunnel.
King George s Park Overview The Problem: At this location, in a typical year, there would be 21 discharges of untreated sewage with a volume of about 86,000 tonnes into the tidal River Thames. The Solution: Our King George s Park site will control the discharges from the Frogmore Storm Relief and Buckhold Road combined sewer overflow. When the tunnel is in operation it is expected that only one discharge will occur.
King George s Park Completed
King George s Park Timeline Project Duration: We will start working on site for the main construction in November These works at King George s Park include: Site Set Up Erection of Hoarding Piling of Temporary Works Construction of main site
King George s Park November 2017 Arrive on site Establish temporary hoarding Temporary footpath diversion Site entrance construction Partial removal of vegetation and small trees
King George s Park December 2017 Continue permanent hoarding installation Sub-base installation for hardstanding Construction of CSO bridging structure and associated piling
King George s Park January 2018 Completion of hoarding Removal of remaining vegetation and trees Complete hardstanding Install site services and welfare
King George s Park Demolition and Site Clearance
King George s Park Landscape Plan
Site Layout Storage yard
King George s Park Ecological Surveys Initial surveys (including bat triggering surveys) undertaken between as part of the Environmental Statement. Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA) undertaken in January 2017 to identify any potential changes in habitat on site since the original Environmental Impact Assessment was completed. Potential bat roosting features observed during the Environmental Statement requiring further emergence/re-entry surveys. Dawn & dusk bat surveys undertaken in July & August Soprano and Common Pipistrelle species were observed. No definitive bat emergences or re-entry from the trees requiring removal or pruning. Due to the limitation of not having a clear view of the potential roosting features during the dusk emergence survey and because bat activity started before sunset and bats were active close to sunrise during the dawn re-entry survey, a detailed inspection was required for potential roosting features of four trees. Detail inspection took place on 09 October. No evidence of bats found in any of the potential roosting features identified. A further survey will be carried out on the day the relevant trees are felled/pruned.

QUESTIONS?
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Community Engagement You Asked. For Tideway to organise drop-in sessions at the King George s Park, inviting people to come along and look at the landscape design plans Drop in held on 3 October 34 visitors recorded Next drop in to be held on Saturday 21 October 10am 2pm
Community Engagement We endeavour to To hold Community Liaison Working Group (CLWG) meetings once every three months Maintain a proactive approach giving as much notice as possible before any key works start Contactable 24hrs days via our helpdesk Phone line on Respond to any complaints or request for information within 24hrs of receipt Continue to work closely with the London Borough of Wandsworth Council We will look for opportunities where we can help local community projects, employment and educational initiatives
Community Engagement Most recent community investments I just wanted to pass on my gratitude to the Tideway Team, who have just spent 3 days including one very wet one painting a Community Centre I managed. I asked if they could paint the outside of the community centre as it looked really dirty and run down. I had the paint but had been waiting 3+ years for community payback to send in a team. I couldn t believe it when they said they had a team who could start on the centre that week. Before After The team have been brilliant. They jet washed the front of the centre and I have honestly never seen the windows look so clean. They came armed with scaffold frames and barriers and carried out a really professional job of painting the front door, window frames, brickwork and fascia to at the front of the centre. The regular hall users have all commented how great it looks. Jo Baxter- Resident Participation Officer, Penfold Community Centre
