32 Agenda item 8: Partial Daytime Closure Rt. 29 SB right-turn lane; south of Myers Drive to Rio Road Occurring Feb 17 through Mar 9 due to expected nighttime temperatures 15 work shifts accelerated by performing work in daytime temperatures At VDOT s reasonable discretion and approval, Lane-Corman may submit a request for additional lane closures (Section ) Requests limited to specific work tasks for specific durations Lane-Corman must demonstrate both a clear need and a public benefit VDOT and Lane-Corman jointly monitor traffic VDOT may withdraw approval Future requests, if any allowed, must be submitted at least 2 weeks before first day of requested additional closure 32
33 Agenda item 9: Woodburn Road Joint Construction Office Residents concerned about presence of trucks, speeding, stockpiled material, nighttime noise and condition of road Relocation of access road prohibited by steep grade (slide 34) One valid speeding matter addressed directly with driver of vehicle Certain equipment - but not all equipment - retrofitted with low noise emitting backup alarms Stockpiled aggregate moved away from Woodburn to eliminate aggregate hauling operations on Woodburn Road Street sweeper leased for daily cleaning, will be stored at Woodburn site Condition of road will be assessed post-construction and appropriate rehabilitation included in District workplan 33
